Expromizer V1.4 taste issue.

I spent nearly three hours cleaning it yesterday afternoon.

I haven't tried vinegar or vodka, but I completely disassembled it again, cleaned and bathed all the component parts in acetone, gave it several cycles in the ultrasonic cleaner using a strong Steradent solution and then reassembled it with all new, equally cleaned, O-rings.

If it tastes odd now I definitely think I'll be drinking that Vodka @dovpo_uk never mind bathing the tank in it - and I'm teetotal!

I've just got to wick and try it now.

I don't know how you've got gurgling @Mike mar, mine is by far the smoothest tank I've ever vaped. It's like butter on ice.

Other than that, I'm completely in love with it. I'm going to persevere no matter how long it takes.

if I can just get it right, I'll probably be buying a second.

Vodka mixed with machine oil would make a great shot lol! Dont give up! It definately goes away with use! Concerning the gurgling btw, what coil are u using? I use spaced 28 for all my atties and with this one i get spitbacks followed by humid vapor and gurgling. Otherwise it's on par with my kf lite + and dvarw. Great tank

For MTL, I normally use a seven wrap, 3 mm ID, 26 AWG SS316 round wire build in tanks I'm accustomed to but always start simply and work my way up.

Make sure you're not over-packing the cotton too, it only needs a little and to just lay on the deck and not occupy the juice inlet channels. If you do that it'll choke.

Nope. It still tastes weird. I'm at a complete loss at what it can be now. I guess I'll just have to keep vaping it and see if it fades.

So frustrating. It's easily the smoothest vape I've ever had. Nothing else comes remotely close.

Problem solved. It's the cotton. I wicked up the Berserker for the first time in ages earlier and got the same weird taste coming through. It turns out Firebolt and Expromizers don't mix. I've never been so pleased to have a bad taste in my mouth!

My favourite tank isn't a problem child after all.

Now all I have to do is find a better cotton. Can anyone recommend something?

I've got plenty of Muji and the said Firebolt but I'd like to try something new.

I know taste is subjective but is there any consensus on the good and bad ones? I haven't tried too many so most of the branded stuff is a possibility.

Japanese or American, is there really much of a difference? Or how about rayon? Has anyone tried that?

Glad you've got an answer to your problems now mate. Quite a few of us MTLers just use Labo cotton, which you can buy on Amazon. It's a kind of unbleached muji. Cheap as chips as well.

How does it taste in comparison to muji @rew? I know it's supposed to be fluffier but is there much of a difference?

Cheap is always good, I don't know why cotton has to be so expensive. Branding I guess, but reading up on them the big names do all seem to have slightly different compositions.

I tend to just use Muji or Cotton Labo myself, like many others on here, you can find big packs of either relatively cheap. If you order directly from Muji, it's £5.90 for 180 pads delivered.

Very little break in time imo and probably not much difference to muji.
