well I decided to give it a bash :D first one came out @ 3.0 ohms 8 wraps around 3mm machine screw so binned the bugger

this one .25 wound around a 2mm screwdriver not sure how many wraps(8 or 10) but came out @ 2.0ohm alittle high for me tho but vapes good.. probably need to kick the mech

I think I might wind around a 1.4mm driver next time

Good work sir. It looks good.

I just knocked up a 2.6 ohm. My 3rd coil. Vapes like a dream at 4V ;)

Im finding wrapping around a screw is the best method for even spacing then pulling the wick through with a bit of bent wire.

any hint in getting the ohms down alittle with .25 ??? am thinking 1.4mm width maybe alittle small should i try more winds or less

That is a bloody good idea about using a screw!
Niche market lol, go to B&Q and buy a bag of the right size screws and sell them as microcoil winding jigs ;)

I use 5 or 6 turns for about 1.5 to 2 on a 2.5 screwdriver shaft, just make sure to get them red hot then squeeze them together - better still get then in some tweezers and hold them together as you heat then to red with the torch...

How about twisting your wire first? Your first coil at 3.0 with a twisted coil would half it there abouts to 1.5 ohm coil.
Either that, dual coil, much less wraps or thicker wire

A long precision screwdriver is your friend for this, get one of 2.5mm and every coil you wind will be predictable, and a quick squeeze and heat makes them nearly solid...

Thicker wire................and, yes, I need some as well!!!

I think I was doing to many winds the probably between 8 to 10 (will try six tomorrow)... I just loaded the coil on the mech and heated it til red then squeezed with needle nose pillars to compress when cooling and repeated about 3 or 4 times and no hotspots :D

just using a kick @ 10watts friggen lovely tho :D
