Tobacco is legal for the same reason alcohol is, there are too many people that use it and too much industry involved to just get rid of it.

I know that's the case it's obvious, my question is why they have not realised the only way to prevent danger to peoples health is a ban on tobacco and alcohol. There could be a lot of money etc created by the legalization of drugs, but that's not happened, my point is alcohol and tobacco products are also a form of drugs and are as dangerous as drugs, so i don't think there is any argument to be made by the Government or any other body for their legality.
Yet the TPD is about controling vaping in a way that will keep smokers smoking and some vapers will return to smoking if the rules go through.
They want your money then they want you to die, it is as simple as that.

Entrenchment of the public's view due to decades of government propaganda. Most illegal drugs are neither as dangerous or as addictive as alcohol and tobacco. The problem with legalisation of drugs stems from change requiring the government to make a U-turn on a message they have trumpeted for so long and admit that they were wrong, in addition a lot of drugs are easier to produce at home than tobacco or strong alcohol which makes them difficult to legislate and legitimate enterprises would have to compete with well established criminal ones. As for making tobacco and alcohol illegal it would add to the criminal business, creating more work for the government while at the same time depriving them and the country of a major revenue source.
