Help with DotMod AIO V2

Look at the shape of the top piece of the deck, it needs to be like that, but more aggressive to allow liquid to flow.

Oh and the ends aren't fluffed either, that's just the cotton I use, pad is cut, rolled into a point and threaded through and trimmed, no fluffing.

Okay so this is how I have it now- I’m gonna have another go at wicking today

I’m currently using the 1.5mm airflow - do you think this may be having an effect on flavour possibly? Too much air? - using the 0.9 coil at 15-16w

Sorry, a bit late, but here’s my take:

Firstly, as @John R points out, it’s important to think about the physics and location of the juice inlet ports. However, I don’t entirely agree with his method. That’s not to say it’s wrong, just that I’ve solved it differently. Even though it’s top fed, the juice enters along a channel down the side of the chamber. John’s solution is to have the ends of the fiber directly on this channel, while mine is based on allowing the juice to reach the juice well and then up. I’ve tried both, and they both work well. There are many roads to the same destination ;)

Secondly, just from the pic, I would say that there may still be a bit too much cotton. And maybe a touch too short (for my solution). The cotton should have a gentle arch from the coil to the well, not lay touching the deck too much. And the cotton doesn’t need to be outside of the juice wells. Take a look at my pics, if you have any questions, @W30RTY , just ask…hope this helps!

Good morning, thanks for your in depth guide and pics, it’s very helpful- looking at where you cut your wick it looks like I’m using way too little cotton. I have been cutting it from the inner border of the tank and yours looks to be a little over the outer border. So I’m using the same cotton as you to the 2.5mm from BP mods- did you take a little off or did you just twist as is?

I always take at least 1/3 away from the strand. Like I said, less is more ;)

Since I don’t use very much cotton, I don’t thin it to speak of, just make sure it isn’t clumped at the ends from clipping. I then wet the cotton a bit, do a Mike Vape’s flip with the tweezers, and place the ends of the cotton in the bottom of the juice wells. Should be no force necessary, and as I said, a bit of an arch from the bottom to the coil, hence the wick being a tad longer.

I also do a what Bruce does just a little, and create a channel in the cotton, which I believe you can see in the pic…
