What's new

Hi I am Sarah, Cambridge

Yes things up here are very very expensive, I did peek in the vape shop but at the time I didnt really know what I was looking for and everything seemed very pricey.

Thank you to everyone for being so friendly and helpful!! And so quick to answer too!

Pricey is relative, remember you don't stub out a vape and throw it away after every use .
The coughing,, yup I coughed when I started vaping,, just had to get used to the new thing, much like I coughed when I started smoking. Short term annoyance for long term gain.
A vaping pen is not a magic stop smoking wand, your still going to need determination and will power, so you have to think are you looking for excuses not to start vaping or excuses to keep smoking.

Hello and welcome..
Yes it does seem expensive when you first start out..
I always looked at it from buying packs of cigarettes..ie my first set up was around £40 I saw that as 4 days smoking a pack a day..once passed 4 days not smoking is when I started saving money..
Eventually I went from spending £70 a week on 7 packs of cigarettes to about £15 on vaping stuff obviously over the time I have brought better kit and nice shiny items but it’s kept me from smoking and not had even a drag off a fag since jan 1st this year..and have extra money to buy nice things.

Hi Sarah,

I’d recommend you try an aspire pockex. They are small, portable, easy to use, cheap and an ideal starter kit.

If your shop isn’t helpful or is rip off expensive there are loads of trusted vendors on POTV. The same applies to juices. If you don’t like fruits then no problem, there are thousands of different flavours to choose from. Maybe a tobacco like manabush would suit you? Or a pudding flavour from dinner lady? In terms of nicotine juices vary in strength. You’ll need to work out your right strength. I used to smoke 15-20 per day and I used a 12mg nic when I switched

If you are buying 20 cigs a day that’s at least £70 per week. The pockex is about £25 and you can can a 10ml juice for £2-£3. Good luck with vaping!

Hello @Sarah73 , Nice to meet you mate !!!

Just thought I would join today as I have been smoking on and off since I was 18 and would like to quit for good.

I need advice on what the best beginers vape set up is. I know people who vape and the fruit smell rising off them makes me gag which has put me off.

Any ideas?
Hi
Try a subohm kit with custard type juice at 6mg and a mtl kit with tobacco type juice at 18mg and u will be all sorted

Welcome to the forum. I think it would be a nice idea if you can get your hands on a Mouth to Lung setup and a Direct to Lung one and see which one works better for you. MTL kits are cheaper (they start from 6 pound a pen, 88vape) and take liquids easily found in regular stores (poundland etc). DTL kits start pricier, but I have quickly come to like it better. Disclaimer: I don't smoke though I have done shisha in the past, and DTL is a lot like shisha (except it can end up producing warm vapors at higher watts).
