What's new

The vape that helps you quit – one puff at a time.

I don't think starting to vape is a one size fits all, each individual will find that something that will do the job of fulfilling your nicotine need (whatever that is) and get you over the first few weeks/months of switching from cigarettes, for me it was puffing constantly on the Juul, I soon realised that this wasn't sustainable financially, but as I'd got over the worst of the change to vaping, I could take my time to find what I needed longterm, that's how I see it, but others will have had a dufferent path I'm sure

I just don't want to quit. One of the reasons why I switched to vaping, and didn't just quit smoking, is that I super enjoy the social aspect of going outside and hanging with the smokers. I may eventually cut down on the nicotine, but I love how vaping feels. Scratches my itch for analogs. The last time I quit smoking (years ago) I ended up starting again because I got drunk with my pals and they were all smoking. I still get drunk with my pals. If I have vapes I don't worry about needing a stinkie.

it’s a shame because this is why the anti vaping mob are against it. they are like the temperance society. the idea that people can switch from smoking to something equally fun that isn’t bad for you fills them with rage.

it’s the same people that complain about safe consumption rooms, decriminalising drugs, harm reduction etc.

Apples and oranges Zou, you cant compare vaping to a massive criminal enterprise, and do you think the drug barons are just going to sit back and let their meal ticket disappear down the tube.

I'm just the same.

All the good bits about smoking, but virtually none of the risk.

In fact, vaping is far better than smoking for me, because they taste great, they're clean, you can do it inside, and they don't make you smell like an ashtray. (Not great for your gums though :( )

Our societies' attitudes to vaping and addictive stuff in general is so hostile, it surprises me sometimes. I wonder if it's so prevelant because it's endlessly pushed as a virtue signal by media and politicos.

Unless you're unfortunate enough to live in one of the countries listed in this post:

I guess because they're illegal, some people feel that it makes a mockery of the law to give them space and equipment to do it.

That's drugs laws for you. 🤷‍♂️

not at all, my point is about the attitude. it is the same one.

The criminal enterprise refers to the murder and lawlessness that goes on in the countries of origin and the petty crime that some users get up to to fund their habit, as far as I know the consumption rooms are tolerated if not legal. I cant see hordes of would be manufacturers setting up illegal production facilities and crazed vapers burgling houses to get hold of the means to buy vape paraphernalia, apples and oranges.

the criminal enterprises only exist because the attitude that i am talking about led to criminalisation. it’s just the same as the effect of criminalising end users. forcing people to operate outside of the legal framework leads to them disregarding it.

So in your world where the end justifies the means what`s to ensure that the users keep to the consumption rooms ? Junkies aren`t best known for following rules, call me an old fuddy duddy but I dont want the streets and roads filled with drug fuelled zombies.
