In november last year my wife had the worst and most persistent dry cough i’ve ever known. it was so bad that one night she couldn’t sleep and phoned nhs 24 and they sent her to the out of hours gp at 3 in the morning. sent her home and said it was a cold symptom. it went on for at least four weeks. no other symptoms, though.
That sounds very similar to mine. Struggled to sleep, coughing that bad I couldn't catch my breath sometimes and it actually made me sick a couple of times. I don't get "colds" very often and I don't think I've ever had the flu so it was a bit strange for me. Could have been any bug really.

That's what i suspected, so in effect they could be continually wearing an infected mask and spreading corona.

I doubt it. If they infected their own mask they already have it anyway, and the mask might still be stopping them breathing out covid droplets even if they were wearing it yesterday.

I think we need to keep things in perspective. The supermarket isn’t a toxic infection zone. They just want us to cover our mouth and nose as a precaution. I don’t see how there is any need to follow clinical mask use guidance, for months i’ve been going to the shops without any mask at all and nothing happened to me.

Not sure about that? Surely if someone has it they'll be spreading it more with no mask than with one, even a grotty old one?

Aye she never gets ill either, and was also struggling to breathe for coughing at times. I was a bit worried about her. The other thing is we have a pal who round about the same time ended up in hospital with pneumonia. Who knows. I reckon it’s been doing the rounds longer than they are saying, though.

...... and we are at less risk now than we were, I have been wearing a mask, I was hoping by now I might not have to. :D

Then you should get an honorary exemption, for doing your bit. going above and beyond. :D

The daft thing is Coronavirus lasts about 2 weeks, if we had had a proper lockdown with masks compulsory we should really have got rid of the virus by now. It's obvious that any type of flouting, whether it be a protest or a company ignorant to guidelines are a big factor in the virus remaining. I can stand the lockdown, the self shielding etc but ignorance to the Virus is bad, surely some folks are having long term problems because of covid, now if someone where to give another HIV then that is a crime, rule flouters are possibly spreading a deadly disease with no known cure yet it isn't a crime.

Does anyone know the ruling about having to wear masks/face coverings at work if social distancing isn't always possible ? Will it be compulsory now !
