Kayfun V5 Dry hits

I have a Kayfun V5. I use titanium wire and Japanese cotton for the wick. I find that every time I build a coil I suffer from dry hits unless I loosen the bottom of the mod for the juice flow to do so more easily. This means that if I tighten the seal at the bottom I get dry hits back and so have to put up with a degree of leaking as well as adjust it anytime it changes with use. Anyone aware of this that might have a solution. I find the titanium to be the best wire having tried others so it is really down to the fit of the build apparently not doing what it should. It is Svemesto mod not a clone.

Not quite sure what you mean about adjusting the mod ! The mod is the battery. Anyway, I have a clone so it's setup maybe slightly different but I found you need to get the wick length spot on. Make sure it's down to the ledge and with enough to curve the cotton along and over the juice holes. I have my juice control open 3 full turns and don't get any dry hits anymore as I did when I first bought it when I had the flow only open 1.5 turns.
If yours is leaking, make sure none of the seals/"O" rings are damaged.

Titanium? Kayfun is NOT sub ohm vaping. Go over 1 ohm and use another wire material.

This is a little odd. Titanium is a wire only to be used in temperature controlled vaping, in which you should never experience dry hits irrespective of whatever wicking or juice flow problems might be hampering a satisfactory vape. This makes me wonder if you are using titanium in power mode. If so, please stop and read up on titanium and temperature controlled vaping, or ask questions as there are risks associated with using titanium in an incorrect manner, especially if you are getting dry hits.

There is nothing wrong with using titanium in a K5, if used in TC mode. For that matter, there is nothing wrong in using a sub ohm coil in a K5.

Found it. Turning the bottom is the air/juice flow control. You have to close it fully each time you fill it otherwise you get leaks. It says in instructions I just hadn't got it in my head. Thanks for your replies.

Indeed. 0.4 ohm clapton for direct lung hits is perfectly fine in a KF5. Hell, even my MTL coils are 0.7 in the 5 haha

The titanium issue aside, the K5 is tricky to run below 0.6. It can be difficult to find the balance between flooding and dry hitting, and the flow increases as the tank empties and the vacuum is reduced.

Ordinary cotton doesn't cut it and you need something super absorbent like Shake and Vape so you can really pack it in and open up the juice control.

When the tank is full, I also undo the top every few puffs to release the vacuum.

The screw on bottom part isn't just to screw it on. It is the liquid flow too. Too tight it will close it and cause dry hits. 2 turns using the emblem as a marker is fully open. When filling with eliquid you must always close tight fully, fill and then open to your desired liquid flow although i always do fully open. This and the use of airflow mechanism are in the instruction manual online although it is easy to miss the point as i did for months myself. Just another way of saying the same...
