Well I've stripped it down and taken a VERY close look. The positive pin is sitting correctly and I'm convinced that this is not the problem. If you look really closely, it seems the positive terminal is a tiny bit too long. I'm pretty sure I can see a "scorch" mark on the top corner of the terminal and it seems to protrude too long. So with the slightest movement it seems to arc and short out. I'm wondering if anyone else can check and compare with theirs. The SKU is 4278000....

Problem solved or at least a temporary fix. I've swapped the positive terminal for the one from my kayfun mini v2.1 It's much smaller and doesn't protrude at all. And guess what? It's worked. No shorting and it's finally vaping like a good 'un. I'm going to get the original terminal onto a grinder to take the corners off and see if I can get it sorted properly. Just a heads up for any other apes having the same issue.

The V3Mini that I got for Carol arrived this morning. So two cycles in the ultrasonic to clear the machine oil, a quick 1.2ohm build and away she went.
I have had a few goes with it myself now and I am incredibly impressed I really am. The FLAVOUR production is just wonderful and it looks stunning sitting on top of her Lab18500.
I have an SXK one en route and I have to admit, I can see this becoming my out and about RTA even now!! In fact......... I could very easily use this all day everyday! There, I have said it!!
I'm NOT saying that it will have toppled my beloved CalixV2s, but ........... If you want a VERY similar Flavour production, are happy with Single Coil Builds and don't want to go down to silly territory ohmage, then this is without a doubt the nearest that you'll get so far.
I am completely smitten.... as if you needed telling!

I've sent a ticket and the photos into fasttech just to let them know but we'll see what they say. At the end of the day it was probably just a qc issue that slipped through the net. And it only cost a few quid. I've done a temp fix and it works now. So I'll hang fire for the reviews of the sxk one and might order one of those.
Also FWIW, 3fvape are doing a logo'd version for $14.99 with 24hrs shipping in case anyone is interested. And it appears to have had the offending corners smoothed down...

@dansus. It has just arrived, so not built it up yet, BUT........... Nice few additions with this one. First off, a Spare Tank
Secondly a very smart Beauty Ring which finishes off the "look" a treat when it is sitting on a 22mm Mod.
Very nice Machining and a definite step up from the one we received yesterday.
PLUS....... A Free Gift! A Tobeco Tugboat RDA. So once again, good old ProVape have out done themselves.
