This has been in many of the news outlets this week...

The UK government will ‘tackle the scourge of vaping’ once it has clamped down on smoking, a senior minister has said.

Why don't they talk about the scourge of smoking, and how vaping can help to beat it?

also in papers today to ban smoking at the races so i guess that will later include vaping.

Banning vaping (in public) will run alongside whatever they have planned for where smoking will be banned. IE: beer gardens, pavements, smoking areas etc. I noticed a Puritanical approach mentioned in one article, yes, that is, and always has been labours way. Now comes with knobs on, via Starmer and Streeting.

Too logical. Common sense and logic are dirty words, it's all about emotion.

Wes Streeting has vowed to toughen up laws on vaping and smoking, with a “more ambitious” bill than the Conservatives.
Mr Streeting said ministers intend to go further than Rishi Sunak’s proposals to phase out smoking, by raising the legal age of sale of cigarettes, and clamping down on vaping, in a bill which will be introduced before Christmas.
“When the smoking bill is introduced, it will be more ambitious than the bill introduced by the previous government, and crucially, it will mean that children growing up in our country today will be the first ever smoke-free generation,” he said.
Hmm.. I wonder how they plan to make it harsher...
