Last Ditch Attempt - Liquids

I had the same issues with a lot of pre made juice so quite quickly went with making my own when I started vaping. I know it's not for everyone and takes time to get right but you could look into it if you have the time. The good part is you can take out the sweetners that clog up the coils and it makes them last a lot longer, especially stock coils.

For me it's the taste of the sweetners that pushed me more to home brew. I just can't stand most of them so I try to find concentrates that, while they'll also have sweetners in them, don't have an overly sickening amount. It's a lot of trial and error and you might get really frustrated but it could fix your problem.

There are also a lot of slush type one shots, where you get all the concentrates pre mixed and only have to add PG, VG and nicotine so that takes the frustration out. Driphacks, Flavour Boss, Darkstar and any other shop that offers bottle shots etc do these. Problem there is a lot of the sweetners might be in them as well so you're back to square one.

Again it's only for you if you have the time or the inclination.

True apologies for this, I'd say i probably get through around 20ml a day on average, sometimes 30 sometimes less depending on what i'm doing that day. Finding a brand of juice that doesn't gunk up coils quickly seems to be impossible and when even trying suggestions from people who've answer these questions before they're all useless and ruin the coil in 1-3days. Agreed even re-buying a coil every 3 days is way cheaper than smoking but when I was buying 1 coil per 200ml of liquid I was vaping its hard to now change to 1 coil every 50ish. 4x the price

No worries. 20ml a day is quite a lot to me but then I'm a mtl vaper at about 10 watts. The juice you vaped appears to be available here http://www.northernvape.co.uk/the-slushy-man/brain-freeze-eliquid

I appreciate your response on this glad to know I'm not alone. Honestly the thought of making my own liquids sounds like a nightmare but it may be the only way to improve my situation. I ordered some Drip Drop Vapour liquid last week and they came with 1 PG Shot and 1 VG shot but i've never played around with those before so i just added my own Nic shot that i'd had left over from previous bottles (I only use 1 per 100ml so always have 1 spare per order) I've managed to get through 100ml of liquid across 2 coils with one of the bottles and the other bottle within a day had my coil completely gunked so no good.

I'd need to try and understand more about PG/VG self mixing though if its also a potential way of solving my problems?

Hi,

Not sure if this is the right area or not to post this so please re-direct me if needed.

I've come to a point in vaping where not being able to find a reliable liquid is making vaping expensive and annoying to the point I've considered trying to stop completely but I would be stopping for to me "the wrong reasons" and likely end up smoking cigs.

I use the following device:
1x Freemax Mesh Pro Tank
1x Freemax Mesh Pro Double Coils 0.2ohm 60-90W
1x LOST VAPE - Thelema Quest mod
Vaping at 60W, quite frequently throughout the day.

I was blessed for the majority of my time vaping DTL by having a liquid that fit exactly what I was looking for, The Slushy Man - Brainfreeze, however this has now sadly been discontinued so it is quite literally impossible to get. Since this I've tried countless different liquids/brands for pretty much the same result - Gunked coil within 3 days of use. I've googled juices that are supposed to be good on coils, tried Prime/Nova Vapes/Drip Drop Vapour and plenty more i've seen suggested all to pretty much have the same ending, 1-3 days of use before coil is completely black with gunk and tastes awful.

I've tried making my own coils with a RTA (Dead Rabbit) but quite honestly it was a terrible experience with not being able to make them so liquid doesn't spit at me 24/7 & frankly a RTA isn't fit for purpose when in my car/going out to places.

I find it very hard to believe I'm one of a few who experience this and would expect it to be way more widespread, have people just accepted that 3 days per coil is an acceptable amount of time? Do people just vape on gunked coils without caring/noticing a difference? Are people happy buying a 100ml bottle and needing 3 coils to get through it?

After reading my essay above I'm hoping I've given enough information for people to relate and let me know how/what they did to improve their vaping experience. At the end of the day I'm looking for a new ADV that lasts at least a week, I'm not expecting 4 weeks+ like I previously got from Brainfreeze but I'd say £5 a week on a coil is a reasonable expectation. My favourite flavours would be blue raspberry/slushy, almost all kinds of fruit/berry products and bubblegum.

Thanks in advance,
Hocky

Simple answer ditch stock coils & get into rebuildable coils, takes me about the same time to install & rebuildable coil as stock one, then depending on liquid i dry burn the coil & pop fresh cotton in & good to go...

Yeah DTL rips through liquid compared especially with me being on 60W, unfortauntely I've rang every UK and even contacted ever US site that said it "was in stock" and they've just not updated their website/don't ever seem to update it. I've been into the depths of page 10+ on google looking for a website that might still have stock but sadly no luck. Thank you for looking anyway though I appreciate the effort.

Hi Mutley,

As mentioned I did try RTA's but really struggled to get the hang of it to where it wasn't spitting back at me. Also RTA's are not practical for the majority of my time using vapes due to the airflow being at the top and liquid leaking out if turned at any kind of angle. Theres 0% chance during my day to day i'd be able to keep it fully upright. I'm guessing RTA's is the only thing i could use for rebuildable coils? If i'm mistaken please correct me and point me in the right direction :)

i dont know which RTA you was using & kept leaking, but i use the hellvape destiny RTA & blotto max RTA & they are both bottom airflow & neither have leaked not a drop & these are kept in my trouser pocket running up & down stairs on buses at work or when im out on my mountain bike doing trail riding they are kept in my jacket pocket & often fall over side ways or upside down but both never leaked :)

Ive not used the freemax mesh pro since crimbo since i got a couple of geekvape zeus and a max tank. up until then the mesh pro was my go to tanks for flavour. only reason i changed was leaking now and again and have solved that with the zeus tanks as top airflow and so far leakproof..

now why the mesh pro was leaking. when shortfills took of in a big way i was burning through coils quicker than i am now. so what i did is dump the 100vg nic shot that comes supplied with a lot of shortfills and started buying a box of 70vg nic shots. coils started lasting quite a bit longer. but i guess thining the juice out even more is why they were leaking more.
so really its a toss up of which is more inportant, longer coil life but the odd leak now and again or shorter coil life but no leaks.

i get through on average 50ml a day at around the 50-60watt mark as i did back when i used the mesh pro and my double, triple and quads were lasting a good 10-14 days and that was mainly custards which usually gunk up coils quicker than fruits and slush which you are using.
the juice i use is all the 3 yove mentioned above and quite a lot more.

i have a few fruits but no slush so best i leave recomendatios to others to advise on.

edit

just notice you mention you only used 1 nic shot out of the 2 from drip drop. which did you use, the vg or pg?

I'd say your coil lifespan sounds about right for how much you vape.

My gf uses stock coils (Geek Vape Supermesh) and goes through them at a rate of around 3 days per coil too.

I use mesh RTAs (specifically the Profile Unity - no leaks ever, great flavour, easy to wick with the right cotton) and get between 4-7 days before needing to change, occasionally longer. I do vape very sweet liquids though (mainly dessert/bakery flavours).

As for Dispergo, they're very nice flavours but I found them to be absolute coil destroyers.

Loads of blue rasperbby flavours here (you can ice shots if they're not "cool") - Vaping101.
