Last Ditch Attempt - Liquids

spot on, ill try and re-wick another now and see what you guys think before i add liquid etc

Also, how long after putting it together, priming and filling with juice do you leave it before actually vaping?

Some folks recommend leaving it for a while. Myself, I can't wait that long. I vape it straight away, but do make sure that the wick is suitably saturated.

You can just trim your current build back, no need to re-wick.

ok so, i had to change the coil/cotton anyway as when trying to cut it first time i accidentally bent the coil abit.

Here is my new attempt, no liquid on it yet wanted to hear back before putting juice on then adjusting

Looks to me like one side is higher (and bulkier) than the other. Make them both match and :2thumbsup:

Ok this is my final product, i did trim the left side for the tiny bit that was hanging over, once adding juice looked as close to even as i could get it. If this fails I'm truely lost. Should i do the usual and start low and slowly work up to 50/55? or after letting the juice sink in abit should i be good to just power at 50 and go?

I tend to vape mesh at around 40-45W. May as well start low and work up, see how well the mesh is performing. Just make sure it's all juiced up.

honestly I'm so close to quitting... I've just took ONE hit at 45W on a 40-60W coil and instant burn taste. Full 8ml tank i'll have to empty again and the worst part being ive not a clue why its happening......

Shouldn't have to empty the tank, just turn the tank upside down.

Take the tank apart, stick the deck on top of your mod, fire it as if you're vaping it and look for any hotspots. It could be that you don't have enough wick under the coil.

Now that you have it open, take the mesh bending tool and push the wick from each side towards the coil to pack it in under the coil.

While it's open, more photos so we can see where it's at.

I know you've got the kylin tank now, but would you maybe better with something like the dead rabbit r? Super simple to make the coil, and you literally can't go wrong. Not as cheap as an rta but much cheaper than stock coils.

Also don't feel bad, wicking is a skill that takes time. I've vaped for ten years, all I use is rta's, I still can't get to grips with mesh rta's.

Mesh can be a funny beast, when i first wicked my Siegfried it was brilliant, come the 2nd time i wicked it the same as the first time and on the 3rd or 4th hit i got the dreaded Mesh Dry Hit, was like swallowing razor blades. These things happen to all of us. A good way to check if your build is wicking is to watch for bubbles rising in the tank. That's what i do anyway.
