The government is considering imposing a local lockdown in the East Midlands "within days" after a surge in cases, as the global total of infections passed 10 million.

Leicester city mayor Peter Soulsby said “there may be a case” for the return of restrictions in some neighbourhoods depending on new data on the level of coronavirus.

It's a good idea... but looking at the map, it's London that needs shutting down.

sadly too late. the damage has already been done. blm protests, illegal raves, packed beaches has well and truly fucked us for an even bigger second wave.

Exactly. And in all honesty, what did people expect. The only reason it was got under a bit of control was the country wide lockdown.
The virus has NOT gone away. By staying in doors it stopped the spread.
Now all these fucking idiots that we've seen on the beaches and rally etc will just undo all the good that's been done
Obviously all these folk are prepared to take a chance with their lives and others lives but I'm sure they will be the ones to moan and blame everyone else and the government for it coming back again.
I really would of thought people would have more common sense than they seem to be showing.

I've been expecting it. Fortunately it's not yet bringing cases to the LRI. We can only hope that continues.
Samworth Bros, who ship all over the U.K., are closed. No need to mention they pack and ship food products.

We’ve got a cluster of cases not far from me. The problem is, unless these regional lockdowns are implemented quickly, and with some sort of Government clarity for people, they’re too late. While they’re considering it, the virus is merrily doing its thing unchecked. Too little, too late, as per usual.

Is that the Ginsters one?
