Leicester faces local lockdown

It's a problem when you have a PM who believes in the fairytale of Hurd immunity and the infallibility of his superior genes.. He, and they, don't care. They are prepared to let 1000s get ill and possibly die.

think about this, if you're sceptical. The gov has allowed more people to die. Than the number of British civilians throughout WW2. And that just COVID. 1.5 times the number killed in WW2, have died as a result of Austerity under the Tory and coalition govs. It doesn't fill you with confidence, at all. That they have the will, never mind the competence, to help anyone but them selves.
Herd immunity is not a fairytale, in a lot of instances its a viable solution. Not saying tho it's the way with Covid tho.
I'm not defending the way the government have handled this situation but let's be frank, any of the governments would have made a mess of it. Yes, things would of been done differently, some better and some worse.
Very harsh to say they've done nothing to help people tho.
As I indicated in my earlier post, this government have relied on the British public following guidelines but unfortunately there are still a percentage that dont seem to understand or dont care.

I think you might be right, we need someone like Churchill to deal with this.

"we will fight them on the beaches"

The lockdown was going pretty well until Dominic drove around half the country looking at castles.....but Doris say's the matter is closed

One of my earliest memories is my parents saying "Just because Mark does something, doesn't mean you have to too. If he jumped off a cliff would you follow him?"

I guess that stuck with me.

nah. Just enough people with common sense, Intelligence and a tiny bit of empathy, in power. Which make us shit out of luck, with this gov, on all counts.

I take it Mark didn't smoke, was it other bad boys that made you do it:)

Thinking about that, I can't even remember not smoking.. which is kind of weird. My Dad smoked, My Nan and Gramps along the road smoked. I grew up thinking about smoking like eating. :lemmesee:

I think I was at primary school when I first nicked a half smoked rolly out of the ashtray.... shocking really, when I think about it now.

He shouldn't of done. But I bet there were an awful lot doing the same. Still doesn't excuse all of the thousands and thousands of folk flocking to the beaches and rallies etc.

Bit strange this one as the quote wasn't my quote.
