How the hell do people do it??!

I find it easier to wrap a coil than I do to tease a cotton ball into a wick!

Am I missing a trick here? I can't even find a vid on youtube on the topic

I start with a small pinch and roll in my fingers, as I roll I try to tease more out of the ball but I either end up pulling a fat wad and rolling a fat spot, or I tease it too thin and my wick comes away from the rest of the ball.

Its driving me mad!

Pull a section off the ball, twist it so its thin and fits in the coil, feed it through ;)

If its stuburn help it along with a few prods from a needle or kanth :)

All the cotton wool balls I've ever used have been a strip rolled to form the ball.I unravel the ball to return it to a strip, then tease a few strands(about X number)which separate along the longest edge of what used to be a ball & is now a strip.About an inch in length I'll cut away from the strip, then roll that into a sausage making one end of the sausage into a point to fit through the coil.Pull the remainder through the coil by gripping the very end of the point, trim to the required length & job done.

Just search for micro coil cotton setup on youtube. Its really easy and makes things like to evod etc much better.

I find tweezers help pull it through once you've got the thin point through. Just keep moving the tweezers towards the coil and pull a bit more. Otherwise you could end up tearing the cotton (or pulling the whole coil out if you pull too hard. Which I've done before oops lol).

I find you can separate a bit quit easily along the strands. Find the grain of the cotton and you'll be able to pull the right amount off. I did boil mine first so that might help but its all about getting a few strands at a time.

I've been trying all morning. Seem to make them either too thick or too thin. Think I've finally Sussed it out though. Nice to know that just a few metres of wire and a bag of cotton can keep me going for the rest of my life! Tastes pretty good too.

Its coming much easier now, I was pinching anywhere and trying to tease out, much easyer if you unravel and kinda find the way the strands run. Thanks guys

as above take a strip and twist it thin then feed it through after a couplatimes doing it it'll be a skoosh
