Hi all “micro coil” users, I hope you can help me out.
After much research and review watching and lack of taste from various different tanks and evods, I purchased a KF light+ some 32ga Kanthal A1 and 2mm Silica from cloud9. I have had it 3 days now, and have not been able to make a “micro coil” below 3ohms with 8-9 wraps, using either the M3 screw method or a 2mm drill bit method. I have viewed AndreW vids on you tube and the great post by “Romelee” and just about every other post/video.
So far the best I have made is 2.8ohms using 6 wraps with cotton. Should I use thinner gauge wire, if so how can they do it using 32gauge wire?
This is only my opinion, and I have been only been a vapeing for less than a year now, and have tried various tanks and the like, but this is truly the Holy Grail in taste and vapour. All I have to do now is buy lower nicotine levels for my juices as 18mg blows my head off LOL

i use .32 gauage and make micro coils without any problems. however most micro coil builds i do are DUAL coil which halves the ohms. Also i actually do around 13-16 wraps for a micro coil
you may want to check out riptrippers vids as hes the micro coil guru and may show you where your going wrong. but tbh i think you'll be hard pushed to get down to anything below around 1.4 ohms on a single micro coil.

check the vids out here

dont be concerned about what device hes using end of the day for a micro coil cotton wick one single coil atty is going to be pretty much the same build as another though of course with the KF its maybe a little harder because the coil sits almost inbetween the posts but im sure Mr tripper will offer up some words of wisdom in hes vids in hes rather unusual manner!

Ah the problem is youre using 32awg Kanthal which is 0.20mm, you need 0.30mm Kanthal which is 28awg

this seems to be a very common issue in regard to the confusion over kanthal with the AWG and mm sizes and getting them mixed up.
this is what i use pretty much all the time now
http://www.vape-atomizer-mesh.com/p...Micron-or--28-AWG----20-Metre-Spool-2440.html
.32mm 28 AWG
essentially the thicker the wire the lower the AWG.
and sometimes when people say .32 and they are referring to the mm and you go out and get 32 AWG you end up with 0.20 mm wire which is bloody awful to use as its just to thin.

im sure in the wiki theres a chart... maybe we can collate some basic info in the beginner section all into one thread with some simple charts for the wire, wick , mesh ohms etc . I know it all can be found in the wiki but if its made available as part of the new members guidelines maybe as a pdf to download would be alot simpler.

There is indeed a chart in the Wiki, put there by my own fair keyboard...

It's something I've been pondering as I thought of the deluge of new vapers in the new year, I'll ask KulrMeStoopid about the restrictions...
