Hi guys 'n gals.

I'm a MTL tooter, and run a 1.5ohm coil; 28g 7wrap @ 3mm. (in a Merlin)

I wanna give SS a try, and know the resistance is about half, but is that it? If I made the same 3mm 7 wrap 28g coil, it'll come out at about 0.8 ohms in SS.

Will it vape the same, or should I be aiming for a higher resistance with the SS?

Cheers, I'm pretty new to building :)

I cannot offer advice but will pass comment.

I am not sure what the toot difference will be like.
IMO you should give it a try and see.

I pretty much am solely SS for at least the last 9 ~ 12 months (mainly in TC though).
It ramps quickly and I like it.
Personally I would build the 'same' coil and see how it goes, you are correct though, it will be much lower resistance.

You don't really need to aim for a higher resistance with SS, assuming you are using the same gauge the surface area will remain the same so the vape will not be effected much, if at all- this is of course assuming you are using a regulated mod.
If it is a mech, there will be a big difference in performance.

You may find you need to reduce the power ever so slightly with SS ramping up a bit faster, but you should find it to still run well at the same power level as you are familiar with :)
