I could show you pictures but you can't see anything because the wiring obscures everything, It really is a tight fit. To fit the fat daddy 510 you need to drill out the box 510 hole to 9mm. Then you need to thread the hole with a m10x1 tap. That means the fat daddy connector will screw into the box using it's own thread, as apposed to using the nut to fasten it.

I'm waiting on parts to build another one, should be here any day now. I'll make a little photo guide/walk through when it comes and post it here if you can wait a couple of days.

Having fitted one yesterday, I agree. It's def m10x1 for the FDV 510

I've got the same fat daddy for mine. Question, did you use that large washers on the fat daddy? the one that goes on the outside of the case under the 510 connector.... I ask as your finished job looks real neat!

No the varitube 510 is 10 x 0.5 as opposed to the fat daddy being 10 x 1
Makes it harder to find a hand tap to do the varitube!

If your talking about the brass negative connector washer then no. Once the 510 is in place you can't fit anything on the bottom in less you where to remove material. If your talking about the 22mm slotted piece that goes on outside then yes. That fits nicely into the recess.
