Ohms Meter

Yep... all noted thanks... I think dry firing on the mod is easier and definitely quicker... it takes ages to warm up on the meter pulse firing of course. That’ll be those clapton N80 wires I’ve been playing with, even to just get warm, mildly red, pulse firing on the meter takes forever...

It shouldnt take longer than on the mod but it will depend on how full your battery is. I use Ni80 or ss430 and ss316L. I've never noticed a difference apart from I only now dry fire stainless on my mods as too much power can make it oxidize so I only pulse it very very slowly just till it gets the blue grey colour.

Cool tip... ta... just one thing though... if you don’t pulse it until it glows, how do you know if you’ve got hot spots or if both coils are firing even?

you can see when its warm if there are hot spots before it starts glowing also you can start strumming the coils as its warming not waiting until it gets hot. Or you could just space your coils then hot spots are not possible.

How do you mean space your coils... (thinking I might need you tube some more, I’ll search threads for this though. Have you got a pic by any chance? Cheers :)

a coil can be put on a jig or screwdriver and pulled at both ends so it is spaced RANDOM pic from google images
