maybe... they didn't give me an appointment for my next jab either, I presumed I'd just get a text like last time.
Not everyone gets the second jab appointment made at the time of the first one. They told me, they'd be intouch. I assume via txt as I was for my first jab.

That will be a big issue, no doubt. My wife and I have only had a smartphone (each) since last July, and that was purely so we could use the Covid app. A few phone calls apart, my wife hasn't been able to use the phone at all really, it took me an age to teach her how to try and browse the net. The chances of my wife learning and remembering how to use an app, scan a qr code, is extremely small. She doesn't do technology, it's just not her thing. That will apply to many people, of a similar age / outlook.

Yes, get out the back, you great unwashed virus spreading heathens :hmm:
Its an act. I think i ran into her on ashley madison.

There would undoubtedly be other options for non smartphone users like a paper QR code or barcode number that can be given verbally or something along those lines. Owning a smartphone cannot be mandatory prerequisite.
Yeah, u think a bunch of evangelical christians r gonna let u put the mark of the democratic beast, or in your case the mark of the labor party beast on yhe meemas and pop pops.

Besides, thats part of what the chip does, now they can just use one of those rfid scanners

I think the religions that are against vaccinations also disapprove of pubs and cinemas and fun in general.

think again mah brutha

U would think bob woulda been a lesson, especially since half of them were either boinking him, or one of his kids, lol

Personally, at this point, i would almost prefer to have a chip in me. Theres nothing worse than getting somewhere than realizing u forgot your id. :-)

Maybe i could hook up my credit card to it, and my car door lock thingy.

going in a pub isn’t a social freedom, it’s at the discretion of the pub. if they said you can’t come in because you are a catholic, for example, it would be unlawful discrimination. but if they said people without smart phones can’t come in, that wouldn’t be unlawful.
The restrictions won't only apply to pubs. They'll apply to a whole range of things. If you truly believe people without smartphones will be excluded - have at it. We'll see. Get your wallet out and we'll have a bet.

They wouldn't be excluding you because you don't have a smart phone. They would be excluding you because you can't prove you've been vaccinated via a smartphone. It's on the government to provide alternative arrangements if they bring in the restrictions. Otherwise they are restricting your freedoms because you don't have a smart phone to prove something that they are making it mandatory to prove. Restricting you because of a killer virus is one thing, restricting you because of the tech you own is something else.

If they bring them in a smartphone won't be necessary. There will be alternative options for those that don't own one. Simple as that.

Wetherspoons used to have a mobile phone ban. That was fun to enforce. :18:

If your first jab was organised or notified to you, via your GP / surgery (like my wife was), then you would've only got the first jab appointment. If you received a letter, direct from the nhs, like I did, both jab appointments are booked at the same time. I have my second appointment booked, my wife doesn't, it's odd. You still should've been carded though.
