How To Protank and evod rebuilding

Ignore that.

While I was writing that it has now started flooding.

Tits.

Replaced washer under the wick, jobs a good'un.

I'm having problems re-wicking my Evods, I'm either getting too low ohms 1.1 with 5 turns and/or it floods. I'm using 2mm silica wick and .2 nichrome. Do I need to use thinner wire for increased ohms? I've also taken the evod apart and put back together again but still getting the flooding and can't work out where from? :-(

I use 2mm silica and .2 kanthal. I am not sure if nichrome is lower resistance than kanthal. But that is probably the main difference. If you have thinner wire yes that will increase ohms or if you
Have some kanthal that should make a difference too.

With the flooding take a couple of strands of the 2mm wick and put it on top, it should hopefully sort out your flooding.

Same set up here and I tend to soak in vodka every two days and rotate the heads

I use a 2mm wick with .2 kanthal and a 2mm flavour wick sitting on top. No leaking, resistance depends upon how many coils I decide to use.

Watch out for a wire protruding from the base a shorting which can give you a 'Lo' reading.

Whistler, thank you so much for sharing this with us. I've just re-wicked my protank and it works!! I missed the bit about adding another strand of wick as a flavour wick, but I'll try that next time. Took me about an hour whilst watching TV, I've realised that I am going blind and will need a magnifying glass in future! But such a good feeling, I've done it and feel sooooo chuffed with myself!!

And good job on your success on the rebuild. Also as Whistler said, if you get any flooding or gurgle then adding a couple strands of 1 mm wick on top of your coil should help that. Those just lay in at the top so you can do it anytime easily. I find it helps with the flavor because it keeps the coil wet. Some only use one piece and say it taste better but when I do that I get leaking and gurgle.
