I started on a gas cooker and only changed to a blow torch cos we bought an induction cooker. Just jump on in, and if you get stuck you know where we are
Been a bit slow going. I decided to give the gas cooker a bash and used the little bit mesh that came with the aga t2. It wasn't a total nightmare. It took ages to get the mesh rolled tight enough to fit in the hole and the wrapping of coils needed some fine tuning.... but it worked... sort of.
I noticed that as I adjusted the kanthal the resistance changed. From 1.3 all the way up to 2.3 and even at the lower resistances the vamo needed cranked up a fair bit for the same puff I was getting out of the boge/tank. My flamethrower should be here today so I will give it a go with the fancy Stealth Vape mesh and I'm feeling a lot more confident.
I've read a few times that people have drilled out the holes in the aga t2, I'm assuming that's for a thicker/looser rolled wick and more airflow? If I was going to soldier on with the standard size holes what length of mesh should I cut for a starting point? I think the piece that came with it was a bit long as it took an eon to roll and it was super dense when I was done.
