Quick question, I watched a video on this and in the vid they guy measured the ohm's after building, is this something you should do? or just suck it and see?

Ideally you need to measure the ohms to find the correct voltage to use unless you are using variable wattage but good to know what resistance it is to make sure not to low or high

Buy a voltage/ohm meter?

Ohm tester or you could get a vamo which also measures the ohms and would only work out a few quid more than an actual ohm tester from what i found when I last looked

A voltage meter would make sense doh!! I'm just not to technically minded.

So what would affect the ohms when building your own coils? the amount of coils or the total length, I guess they are the same thing at the end of the day as the more coils the longer the lenght.

Why don't you use 0.16 wire then you would not need as many winds
