The premise of this post is discussion; on whether products like the Kraken (Vicious Ant) tank, seen here on UKECigStore for £120 has any tangible difference to the £7.72 version seen here on Fast Tech.
There's much to be said for 'authentic' products in life, probably. There will always be imperfections and niggles associated with 'cloned' products. However, when both products hail from Asia, where production and manufacturing probably co-exist (perhaps not in the same environment, but in practice, surely) is there anything enormous going on in the manufacturing process and end product, shipment etc that results in a whopping £112.28 price difference?
Is the vape produced better? The experience improved?
Many people seem to sing the praises for authentic products, and that is a matter for personal opinion... but on a product that has a 204 person review on Fast Tech of being 4.3 stars out of 5, I'm unsure what would really encourage me to buy a £112.28 more expensive bit of metal and glass?
The same is true of the Nemesis mechanical mod and its clone on FT. 588 reviewers places this clone at 4.7/5 stars; and many people review the product as being excellent anecdotally.
There's a difference between preferring local vendors on their local products, but when massive Asian companies are hiking up prices of 'authentic' products, when, realistically, they can be produced ethically and responsibly for a fraction of the cost, this is highly off-putting to the consumer.
I can foresee that the production may not be as 'tightly' controlled and the quality assurance isn't as great... but you can buy 15 Kraken clones for one authentic one. I'm sure this is not the same for all - and I see plenty of bad reviews for things on FT - but, also plenty of good reviews...
Are 'authentic products' better than cloned products when the relatively simple (by design and production standards) designs are known so well to replicate manufacturers? I'm not convinced yet.
