School taking the mick

While we were still in the UK my kid's teachers would email us folders of work for the kids to do and we would scan and send them back for marking each week. They would also have at least one Zoom class a day, mainly to keep the social aspect going but also in case any of the kids had questions about the work they had been set.

Over here they have been using a hybrid system. When the kids haven't physically been in school they've had full days of classes on Teams. The teachers have been accessible to both parents and students at all times during normal school hours. I think our kids have done pretty well actually having heard some of the other horror stories doing the rounds.

The secondary school my middle child goes to does exactly that with zoom , teams etc just seems the primary school is a bit slow off the mark

And if both parents are working, or are at work, they don't think of that, do they?
Yeah

Luckily my wife and I both work from home

But computer and Wi-fi time becomes a problem, and it’s near impossible to get your own work done when your kids are at home.

But could be worse I could work for moti piins

In my experience, children are stupid and forget things. This is just skipping the stage where they’re pretending to learn something.

What children are good at is annoying the member of staff on playground duty who’d rather be inside having a coffee and talking shit about the children. It’s what teachers get paid to do and children just get in the way.

*This may be why I’m no longer a teacher.
