senator in ireland proposes to government to ban flavours

I'll happily share what I know with anyone willing to listen.

But when I experience stuff like my wife's aunt saying (in all seriousness and between coughing her ringpiece up and taking another drag on her fag) "don't come near me with that thing, my doctor told me it gives you popcorn lung and I don't want that".

Well, you just can't fix stupid - especially when the stupid is backed up by a medical 'professional'.

And nobody with any influence will care what I say or think either, so I'm shit out of luck there too.

And if a smoker doesn't want to listen to me I'm like hell going to argue about it or try to change their mind.

So yeah, not my job.

It's the industry's job, it's the healthcare system's job, it's the government's job.
Health care is, industry has some issues but if you're seriously expecting the Government to lead the way god help us. They can't agree on Brexit so we have no chance.

Oh leave off - it's EVERYBODY's job

or do you just not care if the ladder is pulled up after you ???

I like how the fact I'm not planning marches and petitions is worse than a UK doctor saying vaping is worse than smoking.

One way or another, sooner or later, it WILL affect me.

From a vaping perspective I may very well not be alright at all.

But from a smoking perspective, I will be alright - because there's no way I'm going back.

I feel the same but I was sat in the cinema the other week watching people smoke on screen and I got a few 'flashbacks' for want a better term, I really did feel like a cigarette. I think it would be easier than I sometimes think to slip back into smoking.

You don't need to march. Send the doctor the advice from his own proffesion to re-educate him, show your Aunt the info from NHA regards vaping (as you refrain from blowing vape in her face). Be subtle, be gentle but be persistant.

I think most will know I was referring to flavourings in e-juice
but thanks for pointing out my lack of pure clarity on the subject

revised quote:

TFA & Capella are originally US based, but US is looking closely to ban flavours in e-juice

Now Inawera is Polish so EU so all OK - right ???

Well if Ireland looks to ban or restrict flavourings in e-juice - are you still holding onto if's & might not happen or follow ???

yeah but you were saying something like how the ban would have a knock on effect, in the supply of flavourings, perhaps were you not?
simply stating it wouldn't

I think I had the advantage that I was utterly fed up with smoking and didn't want to do it any more, but couldn't stop. Cold turkey was an unmitigated disaster that never lasted more than an hour. All the nrt failed (except I didn't try hypnosis because you have to not think it's hocum for it to work, and also except I didn't try champix because I'd rather stick my eyeballs up my arse).

When I see people smoking on screen, or in the street, or in pics all I can think is "did I really do that for so long?"

yeah but you did .... and so did I, for so long.

... and the only thing we managed to quit with is vaping. I don't think I would be so confident if it was taken away.

There's quite honestly a snowball's chance in hell that a doctor would take anything I say seriously when they're still spouting that while having all the stop smoking leaflets in their practice and ignoring those.

And (the wife's, not) my aunt, and uncle, and I quote:

"Don't try spouting all that bullshit you vape lot come out with, we ain't fuckin listening cuz our doctor told us the truth."
