What's new

senator in ireland proposes to government to ban flavours

I can only speak from my experience

America hasn’t banned flavours That’s the thing only a few states are implementing the ban but it dosent stop people cancelling orders

im tied to PayPal and people can change there minds or dispute transaction 90 days after payment had been made

case in point when lee ash a fellow modmaker and chap I spoke to many times said to everyone he had leukaemia on his group he had over night PayPal charge backs on lots of the orders he was making

lee lost his battle against cancer but some of the so called supporters made sure they got there money back even though he said he was sorting the mods and the ones he couldn’t do and all would be refunded

for me to lose work kicks me in the balls and it’s very easy for people to say make this do this try this so you spent money and time to expand and get knocked back the USA at the moment for me is a no go area

for a senator in the government to raise this issue is dangerous imagine if it was a respected MP in this country saying the same not a journalist or an idiot a normal MP

Take away the flavour ban and whatever else is going on in the vaping world. Business is business markets come and markets go. Just look at car makers in the US. The price of fuel went up and everyone was selling their suvs and 4×4 to buy something more economical leaving car makers with 1000s of big vehicles they couldn't sell. If running a business was easy every Tom, Dick and Harry would at it.

But in this day and age business is very hard and a bit harder in the vaping industry. With the downturn of trade to the USA and more people using vaping as a stop smoking tool, us hobbyists are getting few and far between. With the market growing as quick as it did, it was bound to start to level off before it comes down again.

Also the general public that don't smoke or vape will never get onboard with bubblegum/apple pie flavoured nicotine with cartoons as marketing....so brace yourselves changes are inevitable at some point in the future.

yeah ..... we've been round and round the houses in threads about that already.

I saw some fucking ridiculous packaging for CBD liquids the other week, I was thinking FFS here we go again.

That's the problem, even we can see it, so how it looks to others......is well what we have now, calls to flavour ban...it's a mess man

So that is a MIGHT now ???

Correct me if I'm wrong....

TFA & Capella are originally US based, but US is looking closely to ban flavours

Now Inawera is Polish so EU so all OK - right ???

Well if Ireland looks to ban or restrict flavourings - are you still holding onto if's & might not happen or follow ???

It's always been a might, or an if.

I'm not holding onto anything, because I'm not massively bothered if I'm being forced to be completely honest.

If I can't get flavoured juice then I'll be stuck using what I've been using for a few months now - unflavoured. I have a fair bit.

If I can't get new hardware then I'll be stuck using what I'm using now, and if the reg'd stuff breaks beyond my repair skills I have a few mechs. My tanks are rebuildable and I have enough wire to last years at my current rate, and they can't exactly ban cotton (maybe vape specific would disappear, but muji and balls are still an option).

I vape quite low powered, so I can get new batteries from drills and stuff. (Note, I DO NOT recommend this as a course of action.)

If some people get scared back to cigs, or don't switch to vaping - well, advocacy isn't my job.

And if the worst comes to the worst then I'll have to stop. Tobacco has lost me as a user.

precisely the opposite of what it should be, it's been said vapers as they are now will be fine whatever happens, it;s about the smokers who need to switch , should be everyones job to advocate in some way, even if it's just explaining something to one person

bit of a difference in banning flavoured eliquids than banning the actual flavours, which were around long before eliquid

I think most will know I was referring to flavourings in e-juice
but thanks for pointing out my lack of pure clarity on the subject

revised quote:

As @WaitFor1t88 has pointed out, it's vapers who need to be the advocates. Too many have an "I'm alright Jack" attitude as it won't affect them. We are our own worst enemy :(

I'll happily share what I know with anyone willing to listen.

But when I experience stuff like my wife's aunt saying (in all seriousness and between coughing her ringpiece up and taking another drag on her fag) "don't come near me with that thing, my doctor told me it gives you popcorn lung and I don't want that".

Well, you just can't fix stupid - especially when the stupid is backed up by a medical 'professional'.

And nobody with any influence will care what I say or think either, so I'm shit out of luck there too.

And if a smoker doesn't want to listen to me I'm like hell going to argue about it or try to change their mind.

So yeah, not my job.

It's the industry's job, it's the healthcare system's job, it's the government's job.

Oh leave off - it's EVERYBODY's job

or do you just not care if the ladder is pulled up after you ???

One way or another, sooner or later, it WILL affect me.

From a vaping perspective I may very well not be alright at all.

But from a smoking perspective, I will be alright - because there's no way I'm going back.
