Ok, maybe opening/reopening a can of worms here folks. Isn't silica a harmful substance? I know silica dust is very harmful for the respiratory system. I was using it for a while but went on to the organic cotton which in my opinion is every bit as good a vape if not better. I have been searching but not had any decent information on the web. Do fibres in the wick differ from dust?

It's mostly only a concern (if at all) when you cut it to make the wick, once it's soaked in juice it seems very unlikely that much if any will get into the vape.

Having said that, I mostly use organic cotton too, but that's because I find the taste is better.

But then you could argue that cotton has its own dangers too. It deteriorates quickly and prone to mould when its wet. I know that most people change their cotton wicks regularly but if you were one of those who didn't then there could be a chance of vaping mould spores which could be fatal. Maybe?

Omg there is me worrying about different juices and devices and didn't even think about the effects of the actual apparatus I was using, how do I find out what material my wick is made of, coz I have washed my first clearomizer out today and left it to dry on the side, haven't used it yet as I have a few but after seeing this post I'm abit worried bout mould now!!

For peace of mind, I use stealthvape . He knows his shit when it comes to this. He's done a lot of research and only stocks the best stuff.

cotton breaks down/catches fire easily, silica doesn't burn and only gets heated by a little piece of wire.Keep heating it and eventually it'll change into glass? (fiberglass?)

I agree with Clint stealth vapes sells the best and would not sell something that he knows would harm you

Thanks for the posts folks, it would be great to get some solid information here, can we have any vendors input?
