What's new

So.. does anyone actually use TC ?

I could go into all the do's and dont's of TC but the Puremax just takes all the frustration out of it, honestly, as someone who has used TC for years, yes, it is that good.

Still got a spool of Ni200 in its shrink wrapper, Been intending to try it. I'm out of MTL fused Clapton so might try it next time.

The reason I don't is just that it's not very satisfying when too low, and burns wicks when too high; and the sweet spot in the middle doesn't exist, or exists so fleetingly that it's not worth the bother.

I use TC (when I can) but I have a few mods that don't do it (or don't do it well) so I do both.

It is a different feeling vape, because it's not getting hotter and hotter like it does with wattage so it can feel unsatisfying. It shouldn't burn the wick though, that's kind of the whole point.

I think it is a set up issue though, when you get it right, it's great... it's a bit of a balance adjusting the wattage available and the max temp though.

There's nothing wrong with wattage though, so if it works for you don't worry about it. I use it mainly because I have a bad habit of vaping the tank dry because I'm not paying attention to liquid levels.

I Tend to use TC with certain Liquids and mainly 50/50. I did try TC with Mesh after reading a post on Escribe and it was Excellent.

Thanks yep, though I don't worry about it :) - as you say, wattage mode works fine, but I would be interested to try out the theoretical nirvana where it's just right without having to toggle the fire button semi-consciously during a long draw, but since I do that without thinking it's not a problem.

When I've burnt a wick during one of the numerous forays into TC over the years it's always where I've been increasing the wattage/temp ad infinitum to try to get it as warm as I like; but it never gets there, it's either too cool or burnt when obviously I've told it to go too far :) - maybe I just like it hot !

Fair enough, thanks. I'm perfectly satisfied with the vape I'm getting, it's more scientific curiosity than anything, and wondering how many folk use TC routinely so I will keep playing with the idea.

Once you have found how you like to vape and what material suits your need, I don't think it is that important if you do TC or Wattage mode.
When you are happy, stick with what's not broken and all of that.

But even just vaping SS in straight watts doesn't get hotter and hotter. It gets gradually cooler, just no dry hit protection.

I'm TC on my B&W DNAs and Replay on the colour boards.
