Sorry if already asked - is vaping dangerous in terms of covid?

I vape quite hard i think, like im on it all day and im a bit concerned that if i catch this virus then i might be weaker in fighting it? any info?

There is zero evidence that vaping increases your chance of contracting COVID. Zero.

There is zero evidence that you can spread COVID more efficiently through vape than just breathing.

There is limited evidence that it could reduce the severity of the symptoms if you catch it.

Anything else is opinion, not science.

Man, what does boy have to do around here NOT to be accused of cognitive bias??? :S:18::25:

The evidence IS tentative and shouldn't be brushed under the carpet. To say so isn't a form of cognitive bias, it's just a statement of fact. Do read the article again, please.

Now what would happen if more research showed that Cytokine storms can be dampened by nicotine? Well, surely we won't start prescribing nicotine (in whatever form) in the Covid-19 context, because nicotine is highly addictive. The only possibility here is to develop a 'non-addictive form of nicotine'.

Considering the current Remdesivir developments in the US, most research may be redirected towards that effort though.

I said what i wanted to the op in post #22
I have expanded and clarified in my posts since then.

The evidence is what it is. Imo the op is best decide on the risks for themselves. As I said earlier.

Its very hard to make serious statements here. We dont have precise infos. Or better said, proven infos.

JUST OPINIONS, just saying. Shouldnt be taken too seriously... AFAIK no ones a Doctor/expert here.

Is a vaper a weaker victim for the virus? Who knows. Recent investigations demonstrate that smokers are less frequent in infected population. Vapers? nodody said a thing about us. Is this related to that "innmunitiy" effect of the nicotine? Looks like (may be some matches), BUT who knows. What Im pretty sure is, smoking will not help you to keep coronafag away, or help you once you have aserious pneumonia.

What Im trying to picture is about contagion. If virus is able to "float around" carried by microdropplets we make just from exhaling, the vaping is dangerous ... or an added problem to this. Vapor floats, it stays around for a while. Its reasonable to think it may be carrying flavour, nico, bacteria... etc etc etc AND virus. Of maybe all of this wrong and virus just travel dirctly to the floor, or the first object it finds on its trajectory.

Again, many theories; just some facts.

I'm guessing it would do. If you've got the virus and u breath out you will pass it on. If you've got the virus and ur breathing out vapour then it will contain the virus too.

@OzoreXS seemed to be implying it would hang in the air longer if it was in the vapour. I don’t know if that’s true or not, or likely or not.

I don’t think that vaping is an added problem simply because the vapour is visible.

The lady doctor on the BBC said about a week ago when she was asked the same question replied that as far as she was aware there would be no difference between exhaling vaping and normal exhaling of breath other than the vapour is visible. Her words not mine.

yeah, sounds legit and logic.
to me, medical community has many versions and POVs ATM.
Its something that just needs more study, overall.

It's visible and you can smell it. I'm very wary about blowing any clouds outside at the moment. I could quote easily see someone come storming over as a result of some sort of perceived threat of covid 19 from smelling my vape.
