Steeping????

Thanks for your thoughts on this guys. I hadn't heard of the 12 hour thing before. So far I have; Given them a good shake
Removed lid
Removed tip/nipple
Placed in cool dark cupboard.

So from here do I give it 12 hours then replace tip/nipple and leave or should I put the cap back on too???

Did you watch the video above? That guy seems to know what he is talking about. Only take the lid off for a couple of hours at a time, squeeze it, shake it, etc. seems like sound advice.

Tony I had some zombie apocalypse from AiV come through last week, took a whole week to get here and I cracked it open straight away, thinking that after a week it should be fine, however it tasted kind of watered down and so I though that that was just the flavour, very subtle strawberry a bit like the volvic touch of fruit. However I tried it again today and omg has it evolved the flavour is much fuller and the cake taste is more prominent too. I'll always steep made to order juices from now on

Thanks WilliamJames. Just watched the vid, he certainly gets into it! I've put my nipples and caps back on now and put them to the back of the cupboard. I might try some more shaking and squeeshing over the next week.
I'm not gonna have enough hours in the day to go to his extremes though!!

All this steeping premade liquid fascinates me. In my opinion, if it's premade from a shop or vendor it should be ready to use straight away. If you make your own beer, you mix it all up and leave it for a few weeks before drinking it. Same with home made eliquid, mix it all up and leave it a few weeks before using it. How many people buy a six pack of beer and leave it for a few weeks to steep so it taste better?

Anything you buy that is commersialy made should be ready to use straight away. If it's not going to be ready for a few weeks, don't take my money for a few weeks either.

I'm afraid that analogy doesn't work, however it has happened in the brewery, in maturation vessels, for anything between 4 and 14 days for lager.
Red wine though, should be aired before drinking. Preferably decanted.
Horses for courses.
If it doesn't taste right, steep it and try again.

Had my delivery fron Dark Star and a note included saying to leave a week as was only made up the day before so have taken the advice. Desperate to try the lime and lemon sorbet though!

You can microwave it with cap off for a second on second off second on, or leave bottle for a few minutes in warm water, i like to take cap off and put it away for a few weeks, long as you have other bottles to use in meantime..

In my opinion, i would say try it when it arrives, and if you like it great:) no need for steeping, if not and it tastes funky or not quite right, steep for a week or so and try again. Ive heard that the more complex the juice is the longer it takes to steep.

I'm afraid that analogy doesn't work

Of course it works. How many commersially made products do you have to wait weeks for before you can use them?

As for red wine, red wine is red wine. It just taste like red wine whatever you do to it. The only way you can get hints of raspberries is if it's made with raspberries. The only way you can get undertones of pebbles on a sandy beach is if you've got a mouthful of sandy pebbles when your drinking it. :)
