So I was waiting for a friend this morning at the Foregate Street train station, vaping away, when I was stopped by a police officer who asked me about my PV...The officer asked me if I knew what the law had to say about it, and politely told him that I was aloud to use it as it wasn't covered by the tobacco laws, and that no staff had told me to stop using it...he then started to ask me about the features, what flavour I was using, the price etc. Eventually, he told me that he had been a smoker for 25 years and that he was actually so intrigued by it that he was going to buy one :D So is the future really looking that bad for vapers? As to me, it would seem that even stubborn officers of the law can easily see the positives over the negatives (if any) of using PV's :)

All we need to do now is Teach them to stop bullying People and Taking Bribes and we've Cracked it!!!:stop:

Wish the police officer that stopped me ages ago was like that!
Had a go at me for 'blowing it everywhere' even though there was nobody in the direction of the wind... And that it could also be used as a weapon. Hmph. I did think about it to be honest until I realised he was wearing his hat.

I have been stopped and asked before as well, in fact there is a friendly PC that is a regular at LF down here, nice guy too!

All the listed are better then my run in with the coppers around Penzance. I made a thread on here about it many moons ago, basicly he accused me of walking the streets with a lethal weapon(lavatube, held partially up my sleeve to keep rain out of the drip tip.. it was PISSING it down) they stayed in the car making me stand in the torrential rain. Argued with them for ages about it being a e-cig mod not a weapon, they then changed tack and started telling me it was a crack pipe and they would arrest me for having Class A drugs on me.

Total of 20 mins I was stood in the rain while they stayed dry in their car harassing me. Filed a complaint down the station next day, but no license plate(glasses were coated in rain so couldn't see) had no names, no badge numbers.. so of course nothing came of the complaint.

The whole thing left me upset, felt victimised and discriminated against for a few weeks where I couldn't even face going outside for fear of it happening again. In the end I worked up the nerve to carry on as normal and every time I see a cop in uniform I vape like a freight train hoping the bastards will try and harass me again so I can get the info needed for a proper complaint.

I see a lot of police officers around Liverpool, especially the area where I live and at first I was rather worried about it, but I took the approach of being open about it and not trying to conceal anything as that may look suspicious, I do however switch to my PT Mini and ego battery if I see an officer.

I've never been stopped and asked, apart from by a bouncer in a club which was intimidating, turned out he was just having a laugh and ended up asking me what juice I used as he pulled out a big shiny mod and disappeared in a cloud of vapour.

Tromain, hindsight is a wonderful thing, but when they start spouting the class A shit, it is time to walk away, they have to get out the car and then try arresting you, everything is logged and you can really go to town on the fuckers lol!
I am now still vaping indoors at work and waiting for the service police to come get me, unfortunately i should have been promoted years ago but i tend to speak my mind too much!

So you get one arse of a copper who obviously has a bit of a chip on his shoulder and then
hoping the bastards will try and harass me again so I can get the info needed for a proper complaint.

Mate, there is bad apples in all walks of life, including the rozzers but they aint all bad, dont give them shit, educate them, vaping is still a very unknown area. Loads of people have asked me about my 'crack pipe' when i have been vaping outdoors.

Don't go down that whole 'complain about the police' thing. If it is a genuine complaint then by all means but looking for an excuse to complain is just an abuse of the system.

One complaint will hound the officer involved for months while evidence is gathered, sometimes the officer will get put on restricted duties or even suspended. Rightly so if its a genuine complaint BUT if its some petty complaint thats been 'looked for' prior to getting put in then thats a different matter

+1 on Rexer & +1 on Doofry, best advice - don't wind them up it'll just upset them and they have a whole quiver full of things they can use to inconvenience you on a regular basis to get their own back. If they're being Arsey, ask if you're under arrest, if they reply "no" then politely inform them that unless they wish to arrest you you are going to go about your lawful business, give them a second to think, then politely say "Good day Officer" and walk away. 99% they'll leave it 1% - the duty solicitor & desk sergeant will have a field day...
