What's new

Theres always one silly question ;)

Agreed, but guess if you're a total newbie, I'm thinking an RDA is gonna be the easiest, quickest way to learn & tinker.

maybe, but at the same time many people can’t be arsed dripping. and since the op has been using a stock coil tank until now, an easy tank might be the better bet.

I started on rebuildable stuff with a dripper, so that is what I would suggest. An RTA is not that much more difficult in my experience, but I hear the bottom airflow ones can be a bit of a PITA if you don't get the wicking right. I have a zeus which was my first RTA, top airflow so if you fuck up the wicking you just get a build deck full of juice which is IMO easier to clean up and sort out than a bottom airflow which will piss juice all over your table and mod.

Very true. RTAs aren't any harder to build on or indeed, fit coils. It's the leaking problem, with SOME, if you don't wick them spot on. I've not really had this problem tbh, just lucky I guess?

Also, if you are new to it, and you leave a tank that's leaking juice, for a certain time, you could get juice leaking into the mod! Not good.

Each to there own.

First time I wicked the unity I grossly underestimated the amount of cotton to put in the wick slots, juice everywhere.

Yeah, heard that from a few people. I only used mine a couple of times.
Kelpie is the same. Wicked it great 1st time, then thought I'd done exactly the same 2nd time around, it leaked like a sieve!

The Geek Vape Zeus X RTA would pair nicely with your Aegis. Also the Augvape Intake Dual or Dead Rabbit V2 RTA. All top airflow so you won't need to worry about leaking.

There's also the lazy man's way to get into rebuildables, 10 packs of Coilology pre-made coils. They're around £4.99 per pack and come in all sorts of wire types and resistances. Other brands offer them too but I found the Coilology ones most consistent. I've switched to mesh tanks now though, for full on laziness :D

I would go the RTA route if i were beginning again, i jumped head first into Squonking with a Profile RDA. I have to say Squonking is my preferred method to vape though everyone is different. Just try telling yourself Vaping is a Marathon and not a sprint so take your time and don't feel bullied into doing things, most vapers will tell you this or that is easy because they have already learnt what they are telling you and just assume you should know. We all started at the beginning and maybe for some it was easier, me, i have been lucky and not ran into any problems with any wicking or building, i lie there was one time with my Profile Unity and that was down to the juice being to thin and it was leaking. Always ask if your stuck or need advice, someone will always be along to help you out.
