It could be that Avalanche has a large stock of the V1 pods, and that's why the device is so well priced. SXMini have release a revision of the pods that fixes the leaking issues.

Just found an old review and the V1s seem to be side filling so I think the front fill is the newer one. Seems like you might just have a dud @Mr.Motivapr

From what I can tell, they're all 4ml.

I haven't had any problems up to now. Been using a 0.6 coil for a couple of weeks, and a 0.8 coil for a few days.
I refill mine in the device.

The pods shown on their site have the slide up door on the front so yeah those are the new pods.

I've had no issues with filling other than you can get an air bubble and no leaking or gurgling in use, I have filled it in the mod but prefer to take it out. However the 0.6 pod left sat outside the mod for a while as use the 1.2 far more did leak and gurgled and had juice in the mouth piece when I then vaped it but it did go away. It has only happened once so far so will see how it goes.

Think you must be right. Mine has been dry as a bone so far.
