Tips for those who just wanna quit smoking vs becoming a Vaping Pro

Love the piece about the pickle jar!

Congratulations. It's great to hear that vaping is working for you and that you've found a setup that really satisfies.

It's strange, in my family myself and 2 son's smoked, my husband gave up years ago. I was the first to quit smoking using a basic starter kit but from day one I never had another stinkie, both my son's quite some time after me but again never touched a ciggie again. My eldest is into using a dripper with low ohms and high watts, makes his own juice but low nic. Number two son only uses basic kit and is happy that way, buys his juice and stock coils. Me, I am in the middle I love making coils and MTL vaping, I have three times the amount of kit my boys have half of which I don't use! I make some of my own juice but mainly bought stuff but which ever way we vape non of us have gone back on the ciggies so I don't think it matters HOW you vape but How you keep of the fags!!

I smoked like a chimney for 34 years from the age of 14 nobody I know or I, ever thought I would give up, then after seeing my mother then wife quiting with crappy vape pens, I thought I could do the same. This was not for health reasons as I didn't give a shit, it was primarily to save money as smoking was a massive drain on my finances. So I thought I would start on the vape pen one night when I went to the pub for a piss up. This would be the best thing I ever did, it was June the 30th 2015 6.00pm I had my last roll up, then went to pub with vape pen and I have never smoked since not even a sneaky drag. I found it very easy to do tbh, started like the op on 18mg now on 3mg , and also like the op seeing the vast amount of money I was saving building up was a great motivator to keep vaping, I also use MTL tanks and the N2 is my main vape, but I am now heading towards sub ohm and DTL which I never thought I would do but the bug has got me and I love it, so yeah what a great thread it's really hit home for me this as I feel pretty much the same as the op. I also think basic vape pens should be on prescription I am convinced that 10s of 1000s of life's could be saved if smokers get pushed into vaping but is that what the government want? Well that's another can of worms not for this thread. Anyway what a great first post very interesting and useful.

Interesting that one son makes juice and the other buys his elsewhere. There's a guy at work whose son makes his own juice, but he pays £5 for 10ml because he doesn't like his son's juices.

Both my sons live a good distance away from each other and number two son is into photography in a big way so spends his time doing that and just uses his e-cigs to not go back to ciggies so they each have their own reasons why they vape as they do I'm just glad that we are a NO SMOKING family!!

the one thing i have noticed in 3 years is im swearing a lot more and lose my rag a lot quicker...

Interesting...I feel more edgy/snappy since quitting in August (seems such a loooong time ago!) but not sure if it's nicotine lack (12 or 6mg typically, but 18/20 when I first quit) or just plain old age...

Maybe I should head back up to higher nic for a while longer.

Feckin Happy New Year by the way.....
