Titanium is so much better than nickel

I've a strong feeling that dry burning coils of any metal is probably not the smartest thing to do. Just waiting for research findings and evidence to come through on it ... Have been dry burning kanthal since using Naturevape coils in Kanger tanks, in a carefree way. Kanthal microcoils are user friendly - easy to make and robust - so they have been the mainstay of my builds. I took an instant dislike to nickel/Ni200 from watching vapers build with it ... usually complaining as they did so. I also took an instant dislike to Evolv's policy of insisting that vapers use it when they put out their TC solution. My first forays into TC will be with Titanium and Ni200/kanthal twisted wires, building standard coils and microcoils. Looking forward to finally trying out TC.

Im going to go against the grain here but i have zero issues with ni200. I used the hard drawn stuff at 26AWG and it acts like kanthal to me. Rewicking is easy enough, i just pull the old one out and smash a new one in. The only down side i find is with my juice it leaves the coils with a lot of gunk on them even after one tank, some say dry burn with temp off and about 10w, others say never dry burn ni200, but i don't mind making coils so takes me seconds. As for spaced coils, well i've always made spaced coils so thats no difference to me. Flavour and vapour i personally find is better.

Yep, the only down side for me is dry burning, thats it.

Am I getting something wrong here as you say take ni200 off temp mode and pulse it on VW it doesn't work on normal VW mode ni200 :-s

What are you firing them on? I can get the ipv4 to fire a ni200 build in power mode

I agree with you in that kanthal is ideal for use as coils. Thankfully, titanium feels very similar to it. I get the exact same vape only with the reassurance that I won't get a lungfull of singed cotton.

To be honest, I'm not sure if i would have continued with temp control if nickel was the only option. You will save yourself a lot of unnecessary dissatisfaction by skipping it and going straight to titanium.

I really don't think any of the concerns with titanium are justified. People just need to not stupid and dry burn it. Even if people do, it's not going to be anything as dangerous as a battery exploding. Besides, average users may be likely to put a sub ohm tank on a shit battery. Your average new user is unlikely to just go and buy titanium wire...

I have to say I'm not impressed with Ti I got 10m from vape mesh co tried a few builds and every one of them have this god awful metallic taste that I've never gotten from Kanthal or Ni200

With some brands of wire you need to give them a clean before you build with them. Titanium is supposed to be the wire material which doesn't tarnish flavour at all.

Try giving a few strands of wire a good clean and try another build.

PS, before cleaning them, if you pinch the wire with your nails and scrape them down the wire, you should see a bit of shite on your nails. That is the shite that is most likely tainting your flavour.

VS rDNA 40. Turn temp control off and pulse it at 10w. All my builds at 0.08 and people say it won't fire that low but i can assure you mine does no problem, so does my Sig 75w.

Also, it does work hahahaha.
