Having only used Kanthal to date, I've relied on the annealing process before coiling and the dry burn to settle coils in to do the necessary cleaning.I run my wire over a bit of tissue with alcohol on it, any wire.
The tissue never comes out clean.
What resistance are people using with Ti? Got some 0.4mm from stealthvape the other day and knocked a microcoil up at 0.27 - having issues with it hitting temperature protection after a few drags in the Derringer on a Koopor 60w all the way up to 600f. Going to try a spaced coil later.
I think temp protection works better at slightly lower resistance, or so I have heard. I've got 0.4 ti dual coil clocking in at 0.15 on my derringer and it works splendidly.
I don't want to sound like captain obvious here but have you set your new builds resistance on your mod? At room temperature? --- very important.
I did yes Had a Railbox clone prior to this and had no bother with a twisted ni200 build in that. Ti works fine for a bit then hits temp protection - think there's maybe a hotspot on the coil. Off to have another bash, was just curious about resistance.
My istick 40 hits temp protection all time wi ni200 :-s
It's hitting it to the extent there's virtually no vapour, however for a few minutes before that it's a cracking vape - warm and flavourful.
