Tobacco Absolute help please

I just got some of the virginia absolute from LTEcigs.

Judging from the reviews of that particular flavouring it's the most subtle of the absolutes they sell (this suited my purposes as I was looking for something extra to add to other flavours I like rather than overpower them). It doesn't seem to have much of a flavour of its own at the concentrations I tried (about 5%) but it does seem to add something nice to the tobacco mixes I've done with it alongside other flavours. Having said that I haven't had it long, so it hasn't had much time to steep. Maybe it'll get stronger.

If you're looking for a stronger flavouring to use on its own (rather than mixed with other flavours) I'd probably go for one of the other absolutes they offer rather than the virginia one.

They are diluted compared to the other tobacco absolutes I've seen people use. While inewara flavourings are usually quite strong, I think when you say "diluted" you're thinking of that really strong thick gloopy tar like stuff people use, where it only takes a couple of small drops per 10ml. These aren't like that and are more the sort of consistency of regular flavourings. At least, if the virginia one I got is anything to go by.

I'm quite happy with the virginia absolute I got and will probably try one of the cigar ones next.

I'm a big fan of Mom & Pop's concentrates as well, especially Haze and Deja Vu. So I presume you drop the percentage of the M&P concentrates to accommodate the Inawera Absolute?

I have been vaping this

6% Praze
6% RY0
2% Cuban
1% Dark Tobacco
1% Virginia

Strong slightly nutty tobacco flavour

Thanks for your help Zenarchy and antwilk I will probably order Virginia and Cuban absolutes to have a play around with. Slightly off topic but still Inawera and LT related, has either of you had any experience with DNB, I'm just wondering if it is worth getting some when I order the absolutes?

I haven't tried DNB. Although I've started mixing tobacco flavours, the ones I tend to prefer don't taste that much like tobacco to me (I thought a few drops of the virginia absolute might help to push them a little more in that direction and round out the flavour a bit, but I'm not really looking to replicate a tobacco exactly).

If you haven't tried it, and are placing an order anyway, the Kent flavour from LTECIGS is well worth a try. Its listed as a tobacco but has more of a rich liquorice-ish, burned toffee taste along with something else I can't quite put my finger on (what comes out most seems to depend how strong you mix it). Not really anything like the absolutes or DNB but it's probably my favourite flavour so far from LTECIGS, is good on its own or in tobacco mixes and its strong so 10ml goes a long way. People say this is used in a famous 'black cat' tobacco liquid (though I haven't tried that myself so can't compare). If you're playing about with tobacco recipes, that might be a good one to have on hand, even though its not all that tobaccoish on its own (to my taste buds anyway).

inawera absolutes are very strong ......

Most of the inewara flavours I've tried have been quite concentrated when compared to other typical flavourings, particularly some of their wera garden range, but I think when DirtyDog is talking about dilution, he's talking about this sort of stuff:

If you skip to 5:50ish you'll see a dilution, then shortly after, the full blown undiluted tobacco absolute stuff itself (a thick dark gloopy tar like stuff). From what I can gather, people take the thick absolute, then dilute it with a couple of drops in 5/10ml, then the dilution is itself used as you would a regular flavouring.

The virginia absolute I got isn't like that and has the same consistency as other flavours, and you need more than a drop to taste it, so I'm assuming it's diluted to some extent to begin with.

Not that it's necessarily a bad thing as the thick absolutes seem a lot more expensive, and probably a bit more hassle to work with too.

If inewara are selling the thick black stuff too, they must be doing a diluted version too (which is what LTECIGs are selling judging from the bottle of virginia I got). I don't think LTECIGS have diluted it at all themselves as it's an original Inewara bottle and packaging I got from them (plus it was only a couple of quid and I think the full blown absolute stuff is quite pricey).
