UK Gov To Ban Disposables?

Innokin developed a disposable made of compressed cardboard that you could remove the lipo battery and dispose of it correctly. Doesnt seem to be very popular tho.

not popular because the appeal of disposables, aside from kids, is mainly for lazy people. so obvs they won’t want to take a cardboard device apart and dispose of a battery, they’d rather have a plastic tube they can put in the general waste bin or drop at their arse in the street.

also the enclosed pod with the wire in it is considered electrical waste, not just the battery.

it’s not a great idea, doesn’t solve the problem and neither does it appeal to anybody.

Shame as the thought was there.

It`ll give them an excuse to set up a committee of enquiry with a chairperson (£300,000 pa), 12 committee members (£150,000 pa) over 5 years to decide which is single use and should be banned and which is OK, then they`ll need a team of barristers (£400.00 p/h) to define single use versus reuseable plastic. Jobs for the boys :)

I liked this forum better when it was filled with bearded tattoo ladies wearing snapbacks, wee tartan skirts n doc martins chugging away at 150watts destroying the ozone layer....now all we got is fkin tree hugging hemp wearing vegans swarming the place with B12 injections and pretend milk:D

If any of em were on their way to hug the tree at Sycamore Gap in Hadrians Wall they`ll be disappointed, some cnt chopped it down.

not sure what the thought was though. it seemed like a marketing tactic to me. a guilt free disposable for hippies and yoga teachers. as they were still selling plastic ones so they couldn’t have cared that much about it.

Ever since the rise of Geekbar/Elfbar, every e-cig manufacturer and their dog has been trying to get in on the disposable market...

So the thought would have been a more environmentally friendly option as an angle to see if they might catch on...
.. but there seem to be only a few companies with a predominant share of the disposable market, and Innokin isn't one of them...

FWIW, Innokin was the first (and probably still the only) e-cig company to have all their packaging of kits made out of cardboard (so plastic-free).

not much use in packaging plastic disposables in plastic free packaging, though. so as i said, i reckon this stuff is all about marketing. appealing to the inner hippy/yoga teacher.

That's the problem isn't it.. before I say anything else I will say that I actually think Innokin are pretty good company compared to many others... and always had good kit for smokers. But if you go to https://www.innokin.com/ scroll down to 'latest products' and there's a whole bunch of disposable Innobar products. (most of which aren't legal here already, like the Innobar 8000 with 17.5ml of 50mg liquid)

But yeah, it's like McDonalds selling veggie burgers. .... no self respecting genuine vegetarian is going to eat at McDonalds.
