Vape Expo 7th - 9th October @NEC

Don’t suppose anyone from Hull or surrounding areas is going and I can ride with them? Train strikes and all! Will give fuel money obviously!

Would be interested to hear from those that attended how it was today.

Reviews were very mixed. Some people heaping praise. Others not so happy.

A lot of people saying it was still massively disposable heavy, although they did concede that there was more liquids/hardware than October.

Mainly curious about footfall though. From the decent number of photos I have seen, it looked pretty quiet again. Obviously I don’t know the timings of them so it could have been at a quiet time.

Just to add a caveat, I am not trying to shit on the event. I have always seen it as a trade show open to the public than a hobbyist event, but given that Vapefest or anything similar looks to be a distant memory, it is perhaps the best we currently have on the scene.

It was my first vape expo. It wasn’t too bad there was a good chunk of actual hardware like Steam Crave, OverKill mods, some big brand manufacturers had some mods in and a few juice, coils and other mod brands but they where designated an Ohm Zone. It was quite disposable heavy though which was a shame but I got to meet Gaz the FlatCap Vaper and got a picture with the Vaping Bogan. Also got on to Benny Vapes live stream. It was mostly a social event more than anything. Also @Chris K was a legend for giving me a lift.

it depends on your perspective

I went today and was there for 4 hours for me it was a catch-up and networking as a show it was better than may but its a reflection on the market IMO

the vape scene in the UK is not at expo in the glory days there were wall-to-wall stalls of all sorts of stuff but now there are heated tobacco a big push on snus type of thing but mainly disposables with the added disposables and a little dusting of disposables....

some juice mainly the same style or flavor, no mainstream companies that make tanks or mods steam crave were there but the stall was not any bigger than may.

the mod makers section had 2 modders Johnny was one he is a lovely chap, some smaller juice makers also which was nice

the sadness is the UK is the land of the free we started the scene and have the most relaxed laws but alas companies didn't attend, I skipped being an exhibitor at the show for the reason of the disposable thing plus I'm too busy to outlay the cash (plus Alfie hates people with no gravy bones)

it wasn't busy and it wasn't quiet when the caps t-shirts and disposables were being thrown out on the stage the rest of the stalls were quiet.

the one question at a juice stall, to me, was "do you sub-ohm as we have juice for sub-ohmers" as if that was a weird new thing.......

Socially it was great meeting up with old & new friends, a reminder of what vapefest used to be but drier[emoji16]. Gonna have a short wander today as, other than Steamcrave and the Ohm zone, didn't have a proper mooch.

It was better than May, though it couldn’t really have been worse than that last one.

Still far too disposable heavy for my liking. You could tell they had tried to bring in abit more variety with the mod makers Stu mentioned and a couple of smaller ELiquid brands but, as with May, I’d have regretted going if it wasn’t for seeing the people like NWHornet, MetalVaper90, Dovpo UK, Vapesmarter etc. It’s the only Social event we get for Vapers now but add loud, annoying music and half naked women throwing disposables around.

It was quiet though, me, Lizzie and MetalVaper90 were waiting outside for opening (No traffic so arrived early for once) and there was maybe… 100 people there as the doors opened. Years ago I’ve waited with 5x that number.

I think the Vaping community is crying out for an event along Fest lines, you could see the “proper” Vapers (None disposable users) just looking around for any stand that they could go and have a look and small look of disappointment when their eyes fell on yet another disposable stand.

Can someone check if Steamcrave have the Meson AIO on display and get some pics? Also see if they can advise RRP? Thank you ;)

They do, had a play and a vape on it, well built piece of kit and vaped very well (Despite them having some version of Heisenberg in it).

Me and @nwhornet had a chat about, once he recovers from his hangover, sure he may have a pic or something,
