VapeCige VTBox200

vt box dna200

It looks slightly easier to remove than in the first vid I'd seen. For me, that would be good, as I have in my possession a nice hi tech Nicad/LiPo/LiFi balance charger. :D

dont suppose you could recommend a decent replacement battery which would fit into our boxes by any chance? thought id ask as you seem to be quite experienced with these type of batterys.:)

Gonna tag Car147 here, I know he's got some that are a good fit, only 1300mAh though.

Still not got round to checking out the stock batteries any more yet. The box is great though:) just wish the 510 was a little deeper.

Once I get my hands on one, I can check Andy. I have a mate who works for a large UK RC importer (management, so doesn't 'work' as such. :D ) I can get on the case. There may be a chance of higher mAh/C rating at the same physical size. The down side is, a lot of LiPos for the RC market come without plugs. The Deans plugs used on these are cheap as chips, but the silicone wire they use is a right pain to solder, it needs a lot of heat, fast.

Thanks Phil I have pmd Car147 stating that I was hoping for a bit higher than 13000mah. Just putting the feelers out for a replacement back up as better to be safe than sorry.id be very interested to hear what you find once you've found it if that makes any sense buddy?thank you for your post.i hope you have a great day buddy [emoji12][emoji100][emoji100][emoji100][emoji106]

The other thing about the Deans connectors on these is they've put the male end on the battery, not good. Gives me the shits when I see these videos with the bare end waving around the metal casing. They really need swapping over if you're planning changing the battery out often.

When it comes to soldering Deans it's best done holding the connector on a jig or even with the pair plugged together. It saves the pins moving as the plastic casing softens while you're soldering making them even harder to plug and unplug. As said, plenty of heat for a short time is best too. I've never been a fan of Deans, I'd probably swap them out for 3.5mm gold bullets, plenty man enough for what we're demanding of them with this. With a bit of good planning with cable length there's probably enough room for 4mm bullets on there, much easier to plug and unplug. Have to be careful of polarity then though.

Well spotted on the male end on the batt, hadn't noticed that until you mentioned it. :) yeah, they are a bit of an arse to plug/unplug ! Best thing for bullets & polarity is one male, one female (female on the positive lead on battery) :)

Vape Cige told me that they are correcting this error with all future shipments and that they've identified the issue with the duff cells being sent out and corrected it.

Whether they do or not will be shown when the replacements arrive, I guess.

Now that i got most of the mods that needs replacing, and a chance to play with them, i get to the conclusion that the mods are fine, but the batteries are faulty, got one from Andy last night, and its only the 510 that got unglued. So i put the healthy battery in a different mod, and it all seems ok.
Bloody Vapecige idiots, not testing the batteries is a very, very irresponsible thing

All the mods will be shipped to China tomorrow, so hopefully the replacements will be back to me soon

Yeh a lot of RC guys do the one male, one female thing, usually with the female on the battery negative. I've been told that comes from running old chargers that had a constantly live output, it means that the charger would have a male on the negative so it wouldn't matter if it contacted anything charging under the bonnet of a car.

I standardised on two females on the batteries many years ago and touch wood I've never plugged anything in reversed but I always use the right coloured heat shrink, I see so many using anything they've got. Reason I went for that is I'd rather blow a speed controler than accidently plug the battery into itself, I've seen that done more often than you'd imagine:11:

I've never been taken with any of the polarised offerings, XT60's and the like. Of them all Anderson Powerpole is probably the best but far too bulky for this. There are a few tricks you can do with Deans to make them easier to use if a polarised connector is important though.
