Excellent thread going on here, I for one have recieved juices in the past that have made me wonder about the conditions they were produced in, and very much agree with earlier posts regarding the TPD placing focus on irrelevant areas and completely missing the boat on hygiene.
Cotswold Vapour is in the same boat as many of the smaller producers that have posted on here. We don't have an ISO facility. This is not because we don't want one, it's because we don't have the resources yet. Any juice manufacturer that takes hygiene seriously should aspire to achieve ISO status as early as they are able to, and we are no exception. Having only been trading for a matter of months, we employ the highest safety and hygiene standards we can physically abide by. We have a dedicated room for all production that is kept dehumidified at all times, and has been completely stripped of all fabrics and textiles that would collect dust. Mixing is of course carried out on disinfected stainless worktops using sterilised glassware. Masks, gloves and hairnets at all times. All what I would consider to be the bare minimum when I'm a paying customer.
We're currently saving for a robust extractor cabinet, as our demand is outgrowing our current extraction setup.
Our production room is a few miles away from my home address (I'm mainly the PR/social media/marketing/design guy), but I'll follow up a photo when I get the chance
This post has been very uplifting in what has been a pretty dark few weeks for us vendors. Many thanks
@MrTeaTime (and thanks
@mannikon for the heads up!)
