yes, if the only reason was tanks don’t leak, it would still be the case
That explains it. There's no excuse for a MTL tank to ever leak. In my early days of vaping I went through half a dozen MTL tanks that were leaky and gurgly until I found the Nautilus which was a fantastic tank and never gave me a problem.

Not a clue how old my batteries are, last one's I bought were some Sony VTC6's in January this year.

The bulk of my batteries were bought back in 2016 I have a mixture of LG, Sony, Samsung and Panasonic with a few Molicel purchased in 2019.
A few have died along the way that would no longer charge but overall they are lasting really well. I also rotate my batteries so each get a fair crack of the whip.
Currently have:
6x 18350
83x 18650
8x 18650 pairs
2x 18650 triples
4x 20700
6x 21700
The ones that had stopped charging were the yellow LG 18650s that I bought early on in 2015/2016 from China.
I always keep an eye on the battery wraps and rewrap if needed. If the pos/neg contacts look dirty I clean them with WD40.
