Further to my rant here, I can now gleefully confirm that as of firmware 1.555 this issue is now fixed, unfortunately the firmware is not available to download, but I recently bit the bullet and bought a new SL class v2 for the princely sum of £56 new from EC1.

@vapervince , I got tired and fed up with the whole scene and my health deteriorated to the extent I just sacked it all off. This is new profile Toby helped me with so I could buy/sell and post/read classifieds from the get-go, which he didn't have to do but I appreciate. Also snarfing firmware with a JTAG is beyond me, I just bought the mod and found the firmware was an update from the ones you see in earlier reviews with 1.4xx, this one has 1.555
