Well hello all, and congratulations on such a thriving site and community.

I'm a 40 year old guy, smoker since 12 ( shocking ), and last week i found my oldest son is smoking cigarettes.

I am far from happy with this, but no way do i feel able to help him get off them while i am puffin away on tubular cancer myself.

So a week ago, i bought the usual ignorant beginners kit, a "skycig freedom" set. And another 20 carts. Well, as you all know, their batteries are terrible, and their carts expensive. So after a couple of days i found a shop ALMOST local to me, and bought some juice. And the carts are refilling nicely ( until they burn out i guess ). But i haven't had any cigarettes since the day i bought the pack.

I want to start mixing my own juice. And i also want to research what kind of kit i should buy next: i want something that will last, and that needs less recharging and carts. Because i refuse to give up nicotine, and i find pleasure, relaxation and sometimes escape in the "hand to mouth" thing.

Already i smell better, my house smells better, my car, and unbelievably my chest feels so much better than before, and its been only a week. And now i can lecture my son, and try to get him off it altogether, or at least join me in vaping instead.

SO that is my story, a usual one i imagine. I will certainly browse the forum properly, learn a lot i'm sure, maybe find some suppliers, and hopefully decide on where i go to next with this possibly life saving ( and fun ) venture.

SO that's my story, and that's why i am here.

And thanks again all of you, this place is a treasure trove of useful stuff.

:welcome2:Well i am sure there will be a wealth of information heading your way very soon, i just want to say congrats on starting vaping and with the right kit it just gets better and better, i am sure you will enjoy the planet, anyway welcome.

Oh boy Muddyfunster, strap yourself in, your just about to be taken on the ride of your life. There will be laughs, lots of highs, but there will be a few tears as well. One thing that WILL be provided here is bundles of help, sprinkled with even amounts of support and advice.

Welcome Muddyfunster. I am sure if you read around here you'll get an idea of what you might want. The Vamo with a Vision Vivi Nova is a great start point for something that'll be good value and have some 'legs' as a set up.

As for mixing your own - it's a good place to go but really, before you embark it is worth having a punt at some of the fantastic commercial eliquids around and finding a few you like - then you'll have some benchmarks to equal or better. Nice to have you here and I think your reaction to your son smoking is both natural and good.

hi mate , welcome to the mad house :) , friendly bunch here and never be scared to ask a question , it might just save you a lot of trouble .
best bit of advice is keep a spare for your spare-spare spare -kit

Hiya Muddyfunster welcome to the planet. You sound like a top bloke doing this for yourself and for your son. If there is anything you need just yell, we'll help all we can :)

Alright buddy.
You might try looking into rebuildables, those things are made to last. I've been vaping less than 2 weeks, not had a cig since I started and not missing it at all. I find I like what vaping has to offer a lot more than what smoking does. Anyway, like you I wanted something that would last so I've recently got into dripping. A few teething troubles but that thing vapes like a beast and I like the technical aspect.
It's amazing how quick your chest feels clearer. I bike to work and it used to be a bit of a struggle some mornings but now I'm zipping about like I was back on the bmx track 25 years ago. I even plan to get back into racing
Good luck and all the info is out there
By the way if I found out my daughter had started smoking I'd be pissed but then again she's only one...
