Wicking issues with Brunhilde mtl rta

I use the Brunhilde MTL RTA and I get great flavour from it, really nice.

I can't see what's wrong with your build, and I find it fairly forgiving generally too. Coil position is pretty much what I have. I may be wrong, but I wouldn't have thought the type of coil would make THAT much difference, as long as it's heating up enough to vaporise the juice in sufficient quantity. FWIW I use a 1.2ohm kanthal coil at about 14w normally 7 wraps of 27/8 awg or thereabouts.

Hope you get it working, I think it's worth persisting with.

thanks very much for your post mate, yeah I’m sure there’s something I’m not quite getting as I am new to building coils and things, a quick question what wattage did you vape the stock 0.8 coils that came with it at? That’s if you did use them of course

I don't think I did to be honest. I tend to bin the ones that come tanks because I'd usually prefer my own :)

Between 13 and 18w would be normal for 0.8 I'd estimate.

Could it be something dippy like having the juice hole open instead of the airflow hole, or the cap not being on properly? Prob not, just checking. It's the kind of thing I might do.

Do you have another RTA tank that you could try the other coil in? Just to see if it makes any difference.

Hi no I don’t currently, as this is kind of my first, I have an old Grimm green recoil rebel rda knocking around somewhere but I kind of got sick of not being able to wick it right and that got sidelined, I’m going to have another go as soon as I get some new coils and I will let you know how things go

Hi there,

I’m looking for some help with wicking my Brunhilde, I seem to be having issues with the flavour, I’m using the 0.8 standard coils that come with it and I’m getting next to no flavour off it, I think my problem is how I wick but I’ve tried different lengths, thinning the cotton all sorts but I just can’t seem to get it right. I’m quite new to rebuildables but not new to vaping, I’ve tried using the vapefly shoelace cotton that comes with it and also cotton bacon but neither are yeilding any results. If anyone either owns this tank or is an expert with rebuildables please help me as it’s very frustrating. I’m using 50/50 10mg nic salts Boulevard shattered my all time favourite juice
Got huge problems with this damn thing not wicking properly. Just throw it away and get an Ares 2.

It looks like you have not dry pulsed the coil yet.
If this is the case then it won't be heating evenly.

I remember it well, drank like a fish, so offloaded it. Anyways, that aside, you gotta take the wick tails down to touch the o-ring then tuck it in, wicks fine then.

What you are saying is that the wicks are actually quite long? We have to cut the cotton to the first or second oring?

Experiment, see what works for you, stop watching youtubers that barely use the products before moving on to the next thing in their review queue.

It took me a while to get a decent vape from an rta and I'm still playing around with builds and learning new things.

I think the amount of cotton in the coil makes a big difference with the flavour. If you are still struggling I'd suggest trying some BP mods easy cotton when starting out building. It comes as a string that is the correct width. You need to get that slide just right.

All rtas seem a bit different and I have some that work differently with different cotton and coils. Generally I use 6 or 7 wraps of 26 Ni80 at about 0.7 ohms 14W 1.2mm airflow. The numbers aren't overly important as long as you can get a good vape out of it. But if the wick is compressed or twisted inside the coil it won't work well, so use a long wick when threading, keep it fluffy and trim to length. Keep trying and you'll get there.
