What's new

A New DNA Chip?!?

As far as I can tell, there are two new dna chips on the way…:22:

There’s the dna60c, which is a color version of the dna60 chip, and then there’s the all new dna80 chip, which looks perfect for Boro mods :14:

There hasn’t been an official press release from evolv, but I will bet that StealthVaoe are in the loop already. Personally, my mind boggles at the myriad of possibilities that dna80 chip presents, if that is the new chip ;)

Maybe it was the 80 chip? But it had a colour screen too (rectangle shape).

Whichever chip it is it doesn't have the third menu button of the other 'C' variants, just the standard pair of up/down buttons.

It will be interesting to see the menu navigation. I'm hoping it will be a press of up and down together to highlight what you want to select/adjust which would replicate a single press of the menu button on a C board then follow the standard 'C' navigation system - that would make me happy, but possibly not some of the old school DNA fans.

So Apple can get away with 1 button on a phone and you're hoping for a 2 button press. Guaranteed wrong.

It isn't an iPhone and the current non 'C' variants all rely on frequent two button presses, sometimes when the mod is on - sometimes after being put into standby with 5 clicks to adjust other things - a single click of the up and down to scroll through the menu instead of having multiple combinations seems less work and easier to remember to me.

I'm hoping for something more intuitive than the current DNA60 menu and just idly speculating on how it may be achieved. - but I suspect I am completely wrong as I'm just speculating, but think any change to the menu will make some current DNA60 fans irate.

I think you are correct, sir. You have to realize their hands have been tied by the August 2016 Deeming regulations meaning the boards etc. could have no meaninful change. You'll notice the 75C and 250C have both a regular (American deeming date) and International (Replay enabled) versions. Like the 100C, these should only have International firmware versions with all new shiny shiny, and better battery efficiency like the 100C.
