What's new

A week to go until the Mrs gives birth

all the best with this new venture of yours ! im an only child , but my wife has a sister , and from the the only advice i can pass on is to ensure you take just as many photos of the new baby as you did the first. my inlaws have 30+ albums of their first child and only half of 1 of my wife. and she still bring it up at 23 lol.

Gawd, a second kid to take pictures of - my wife has 750 photo's uploaded on snapfish of Mia so I dread to think how much number 2 will cost as well.

Fortunately/unfortunately in this day and age with a smartphone almost always at hand it is easy to snap off a load compared to when you had to lug an SLR everywhere so no doubt ol wifey will keep the photo's topped up :)

my wifes so desperate for children i worry that by the time i do agree to the whole process she'll spend all my money on creating a darkroom in the house to develop millions of photos , shes been pestering me for kids for 4years now. her mother is already stocking boxes full of supplies at her house. im dreading it lol.

Congrats fella, but you really havent thought everything through have you.......

1. Have a home birth - that way she can pick and pack up till the last couple of minutes.

2. Once rested, you can wake her up half an hour before the Post office closes in order that she can take the parcels for dispatch.

Now if you deviate from the above, it will show her that you have compassion beyond the norm, and it WILL get used against you in the future :D

Now correct me if I am wrong, women are built to give birth, and can imagine it to be similar to having a big poo, yeah, it stings but really no biggy, 5 minutes later everything is 'fine and dandy'. Do you get sympathy when you have 'man-flu'? If the answer is 'no' then no sympathy is required, and what is more important keeping you customers happy or your wife??

Also you dont mention the age of child no. 1, and remember they are never too young to assist with running of any business, even from the age of 6 months, they are capable of licking the envelopes :D

No need to thank me for all of this awesome advice, this is what I am here for, showing males the error of their ways. :lol1:

Andy, thank you for the sound advice. I have actually relayed this to the wife and she laughed her tits off, not literally as that would be bad for the new baby. You did get a bit of an 'ooooooooh' at the stinging poo remark but I am sure it passed her straight by :)

Seriously, congrats, and I remember the birth of my second, now she is 16, and nearly 6ft tall, but still my baby :)

Many thanks! I am equally excited and apprehensive it must be said, mainly because I want to make sure that everything goes well, that we don't neglect Mia and I can still be around to help the wife for a while after the birth while running a growing business. No doubt this one will be another apple of my eye :)

Good Luck and Congrats Fella :) Hope Mum and baby are doing well

My first only 10 weeks ago was a Em c-section 15 days early and he's turning into a little monster now.. I remember those trips to the hospital mainly due to the friggen parking fee's nearly 80 quid over 5 days but hey Well worth the bundle of joy that comes in the end :D

Am sure all your customers will understand delays...

Hope all goes well and hope to here the good news from you
