hi all,

So, I've finally taken the plunge into DIY I've ordered the following:

Darkstar - 1ltr VG, 1ltr PG, 100mm of VG based nic

Chefs flavour - 30ml doughnut King, 30ml sugar bear

Vampire vapes - 20ml Heisenberg

eBay - 10ml syringes with blunt needles

I have a load of one hit wonder 180ml and odd 100ml bottles cleaned and prepped.

So, what else do I need? Can anyone point me into the right direction as to a decent calculator in order for me to actually put this lot together!! Lol

I understand that the chefs flavour concertrates will require some amount of steeping (4 weeks about right?). I have however been told that the Heisenberg should be good to go straight away....is this correct? How much juice will I get from these concertrates?

Sorry for all the questions but after ummmming and ahhhhhing for so long I just decided to go for it and worry about the detail later :18:

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated :2thumbsup:

For a windows based calculator i'd recommend juice calculator by hotrod (diyjuicecalculator.com) or ejuice me up (ejuice.breaktru.com).

You should be able to make a minimum of 400ml from those concentrates at 20%. Never used those concentrates though so no idea on the steep times but if someone says that it'll be good to go after a good shake then there is no harm in trying.

A 1ml syringe might be useful to be more accurate with the nicotine, and a set of scales for once you get bored of cleaning the syringes and taking the tops off your concentrates.

Good luck you'll be kicking yourself for not taking the plunge sooner!

+1 on 1ml syringes. Heisenberg won't improve with steeping... I'd also get some 10ml bottles too @wonky

Welcome to the crazy world of mixing!
My only recommendation would be a small set of electronic jewellery scales
Far less mess and accurate results, time after time.

Thanks guys, @gary68 @bananas will order a 1ml syringe :2thumbsup:

I will also look into a set of scales (been a while since I had to buy a set of small digi scales :18: any sugestions?)

Cheers chopper, yes have gloves at the ready. Have done a quick go on the calculator you suggested ...... Dose this look right? I.e I'll end up with 150ml of liquid from one 30ml one shot concertrate mixed at 20% (chefs flavours say 15/20% so assuming I'm better off going to the top end of the scale for max flavour...?)

Thanks again all

I always thought mixing by weight wasn't as accurate due to viscosity affecting weight or something? I may be talking bollocks there I just remember reading that it's more accurate to mix in ml than mg.

Syringes, no needles.
Take 2.5mm drill bit and hand turn it in to the end about 6mm (not fully in).
Take 3mm drill bit and hand turn it in to the end about 3mm.
Now you can jam a needle nosed bottle onto the end of the syringe and draw up your concentrate.
Only way I mix, no needles, blunt or otherwise, no popping tops off, no mess, no scales - simple.

The tapered hole creates a snug fit on bottles drip nozzle.

Edit - maybe 2 then 2.5mm? can't remember.

Cheers mate.....not so glad I just ordered 1ml syringes with needles :( ah well, will get me started I suppose.

Can't wait for it all to turn up now! That said I'm such an impatient fucker I'm not looking forward to the wait! At least the Heisenberg will be ready straight off.....lets hope me and the Mrs like it!! Never tried it!

Maybe my drill sizes are off - see edit.
It also helps with drawing up VG which I see many complain about.

Heisenberg - menthol grape drank to me. Not a big fan but not terrible.
