Are we Wrong to Lockdown?

i don’t see this being likely to happen. it’s what david icke and the conspiracy mob are going on about, but i can’t see anything that suggests it is likely. i go to a pub, they write my name down on a list that they destroy after i think 4 weeks. it’s hardly an orwellian tyranny.

but anyway, your bank already know all of this about you and more. where you went, what you bought, the stuff you paid for online etc. and quite possibly google as well.

the question was about 'where it ends'.

I did say 'in the future' ..... maybe the next pandemic or crisis of some other kind, I don't know the situation that it might be implemented. But it feels highly likely that it would be.

... and your second comment just confirms that's the direction we are going in doesn't it?

True, but you find that sort of camaraderie in small groups not so much in a general populous. Unfortunately, and this is a broad sweep, society as a whole is arrogant and selfish. Small groups are dependable and trustworthy.
Or is this just my cynical nature. :D

I don't agree, I feel very little 'camaraderie' to people on the forum, especially people that have only just joined looking for help. They are just a random people, who we know nothing about, looking for help.

I think you are being too cynical.

I don't think most people are arrogant and selfish.

Using a forum as an example is not good though. I was referring to a small group of people you know face to face.

I'm cynical and a psychopath, I'm doing well just lately [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23]

It always feeds down from the top, from those in Government and with authority. Nasty governments (generally) lead to a nasty population, or at least a significant percentage of the population becoming so, aided and abetted by media barons who often successfully dictate legislation, direction of governance and so on.

Why is it not a good example? it's a cross section of society, people of different ages from different areas and different upbringings. Where the vast majority of people are more than happy to help out a complete stranger if they can.

You are saying that society doesn't do that, I don't think that's true. I think most people will help if they can. The only difference is that outside of the forum most problems people have are things people can't (or don't feel they can) help with. How many times do people say or think 'I wish there was something I could do' or 'I wish I could do more to help'? ... that's the problem, people don't feel capable or empowered to do anything.

I can seriously see us not being allowed to go anywhere unless we 'log in' in the future ... as someone who doesn't feel the need to broadcast everything I'm doing and everywhere I'm going, I don't like it and I definitely don't think the government should be able to track everywhere I'm going and everything I'm doing and who I'm with. It doesn't really make a lot of difference if someone knows I've gone to this venue to watch this band or whatever... but I do find it unnerving, that anyone knows who I haven't told.
I 100% agree with you - for normal life, at this moment tho I understand the need to track and trace.

my other half hates it - and is convinced it’s all about control, personally I think it’s needed until the disease either mostly goes away or a vaccine is available.

I dont like it - but I’m willing to live with it ... TEMPORARILY. For everyone’s good.

Should it continue past when it should stop - (I dont think it will) I’ll be in line with all the other rebels.

I don't think the forum is a good example because for most, we are face less names. We do help each other out yes, that's a good thing ,but that wasn't what I meant about groups. I was meaning groups, clubs and your circle of friends. People you see face to face regularly vs total stranger's.

There doesn't seem to be many people out there that will help a stranger. Some do but I think they're a minority.

I've got some good friends that I'm sure would help me bury a body [emoji6] [emoji23] but a stranger wouldn't. ( joking obvs, maybe [emoji16])

exactly.. and people are willing to help 'faceless names' here aren't they?

I don't think people that vape are some kind of special minority group that are extra helpful.

Aren't you just contradicting yourself? Forget the circle friends thing, that's not what I'm saying.

You say "There doesn't seem to be many people out there that will help a stranger."

and I'm saying I don't that's true, I think most people would. .... if they could.
